Title: Can I has help?
Post by: emiiru on September 10, 2007, 10:58:48 PM
Well how have you people been?

my computer (which runs windows xp) is beeping (like the sound it'll make when you click something you can't click.)  randomly.

Just started happening.  It's very annoying.  I googled it, and maybe I phrased my search terms wrong, but it seems there's only things to make random annoying noises (apparently people want this to happen), and not to get rid of them, which is my desired result.

I could just get rid of the sound set for that and see how that goes, or I could get some help.

help please?

short term: try turing off your comps stereo.

long term: you are asking the wrong genius

Press Alt Ctrl Del to check for any processes in the memory that might be doing stuff you don't want it to be.

I used to Rom these old computer games like The Curse of Monkey Island, and the music for those games used beeps from the computer instead of normal music from the speakers.

If you can find out what that's called, it might help you find your problem.

hmm... after a long nap the problem seems to have solved itself. probably was a stuck key.   I checked my processes just now, and nothing is there that I don't recognize.

thanks for helpful responses.

I'm going back to sleep lol.
