This looks amazing. I so hope this guy finishes it. It's my dream come true....
-
Amazing indeed.

I'm thinking about asking for RmXP just because of this now. (I doubt its compatible with Postality Knights version.)
I've tried XP before, but things in 2000 and 2003 are so much easier for me to use.
EDIT: (Yes... I remembered my password for that site... now i can suggest things that would be helpful for a person like me who tries to read things on how to script in a programming language, and then finds it hard to remember anything, or make sense of what they are trying to say!)
-
I believe that RMXP sucks so much because of the script capability, so they made the editor suck so much cos they figured why use it if you have scripts, the a$$holes.
-
you know what is retarded? Somebody who trash talks something because of a lack of effort to understand the subject completely.
It is one thing if you say for instance "I prefer not to work with scripts, the concept of scripting is intimidating"
But when you say something stupid like I believe that RMXP sucks so much because of the script capability, so they made the editor suck so much cos they figured why use it if you have scripts, the a$$holes.
Its like saying "Screw socialists, they worship the devil"
I script horribly in RMXP...I can barely script at all. Actually, I cant script. Period. I don't understand RGSS at all.
But there is a wealth of scripts out there for RMXP that are copy/past compatible, for custom battle systems, Menu Systems, Functionality, and a thousand other things that would have taken me months to program into RM2K3 that i simply got permission to use...they all came with easy to understand instructions, so that i didnt have to learn code to customize the scripts.
Now, that being said, Yeah, the RMXP data editor may seem bare bones, if you open it up and toy with it for a couple of days andfignore it after saying "OMG ITS SO GHEY"
Also, Your name is spelled wrong. Its spell edGENOCIDE. Anyways, try not to shoot off ignorant stupidity... If you are a lazy jerk who wont put the effort in to learn the program, then say that.
Anyways...AFL
I like all the systems in the RPG maker series thus far. XP is my favorite because of the unlimited colour and transperancy channels. Its easier to Make graphics for, and there is a legal north american version out there.
Id like to see this finished too.It would powerhouse the system...But id have my fears of this thing making XP games run laggy on computers that arent new.
The multiple battle system drag and drop elements sound neat, and the additional Event commands and more selfswitches sounds wicked too.
-
Personally I'm more excited for VX. It should have the unlimited color and transparency channels, while still having the classic programming method.
-Message
-Message Display Options
-Face Graphics
...
-Conditional Branch
-Label
-Jump to Label
-...
-Etc.
I just like this method more. Rumor has it that you'll be able to make scripts with these, as well as import XP Scripts. I don't see why you guys hate it so much. You don't have to use the DBS.
-
The only thing I don't really like about VX, is that it looks like the DBS is 2k style. =p. Hopefully the one after it is 2k3 styled. :D
But ("old fashioned") 2k/2k3 coding is much easier for me than ruby. =p. I like it better too.
-
I am stoked for VX too.... because of the advanced house autotiles mostly.
And the XP script compatibility.
The default battle system shouldnt even matter with a system you can import scripts into....
its simply a matter of searching an rgss forum for a cool battle system, or comining scripts.
Hoever, if enterbrain is actually making the whole process easier for nubs, i imaging the battle systems will be easier to effectively mess around with.
VX is gonna be the shizz, as long as the north american version is released promptly
(If anyone is holding off on XP simply because of the DBS, Ill fricken send you a 2k3 battle system script...or an ABS or TBS...srsly....its sad. the system is sweet. 2k3 is a dinosaur in comparison....and graphically you can do anything shy of 3d.....fricken mode7)

Heh. I knew the time where I got mindlessly bashed on would come promptly.
I do not know or understand why you went off like that, but it was uncalled for. You don't know at all if either, it's lack of effort why I said this and if RGSS is intimidating to me or not. Also, name calling got old and ironically enough, it's retarded.
Now, I prefer to learn any other language than RGSS, you cannot just jump to yer own conclusions and spaz , "WTF you are an idiot you bashed on RMXP! Now you shall die", c'mon. Truth is, that I never "trash talked" on RMXP, I did, however, COMPLAIN about the editor, NOT about RGSS.
I think RGSS it's a great scripting language, but I just don't want to learn it and I don't see a problem with that. But Enterbrain did get lazy with the editor because of the scripting capability, there's ALMOST no use for the editor once you are comfortable with scripting, in fact, a game made only with RMXP editor would be fairly incomplete.
On another note. Trash talk, is hating on something without having even tried it out at all and I obliviously, did not trash talk, sorry to break it to you. I did try RGSS, I think it's a good language (object based) I simply do not have the time or want to learn it, and no, it's not intimidating, why would a scripting/programming language be intimidating unless you feel mentally challenged? I have tried quite a few other programming languages, and I am about to decide which one is fit and worth learning and giving my time to, and RGSS it's not one that I am about to give my time to for many reasons, not right now at least. All in all, I didn't trash talk, I stated what I think is evident. Ignorant stupidity...hmm...I'm afraid not, not me.
Copying and pasting other people's scripts it's not my thing and of course I know it can be done, but I like creating things for myself. But whatever floats yer boat, it's none of my business. So, no thanks.
Oh yeah. Coding in RM2k3 does not take months. A good CMS main screen can be completed in around 1/5 to 2 hours. Of course, considering you got the hand of coding in 2k3. Also, you calling me "lazy jerk" is quite redundant, if not amusing, when you say you get permission to use a pre-made templates and all you do it's edit here and there, and that it takes too long in rm2k3 (not true).
Ya, I know my SN is spelled wrong, and if you didn't notice, it's spelled right on my avatar and Sig. But when I realized the wrong spelling on my SN, it was too late.
If you failed to understand or be intelligent enough to first make sure I was trash talking on something, it's yer problem. Next time, make sure before bashing on someone you don't spaz based on a short comment like mine and maybe try to read twice, because in my comment, there was no trash talking.
-
I didnt needlesly bash you because you bashed XP....I did so because you bashed it without providing any coherhent reasoning for doing so.
Remember the first post you made here? The one calling enterbrain assholes for introducing RGSS into the maker and making the editor simplified as a means to emphasise the new features in the system?
Thats what I was alluding to.
I could have worded it a bit more curdtly, yes. I apologise...there was no need for me to make my response and long winded as I did.
Anyways, basically what i was saying, is perhaps before you spout like this:
I believe that RMXP sucks so much because of the script capability, so they made the editor suck so much cos they figured why use it if you have scripts, the a$$holes.
you could perhaps think of a better way to present your point, rather than in a way that makes you look ignorant.
If you are truly so intellegent and ambitious so as to learn various coding languages, you could perhaps present your case in a way that Illustrates the point you make in your follow-up post, rather than contradicts it.
-
But the thing is I wasn't trying to get technical by saying that in my first post at all. It was meant to be a fast comment on how much Enterbrain simplified the editor because of RGSS.
Yeah, I did not think about the possibility of someone seeing my comment as feeble minded bashing. I just did not think it would offend anyone, cos I knew what I meant, but people not always see things the same as you, cool, I understand. But, as you said before, you didn't have to flip like that and judge.
But whatever it's cool.
-
yeah...Im over it too man.
Good old charas.
Like I said, I was pretty longwinded. I think I come off as a bit more offended then i intended.
Anyhow....
