There is no movement in that to be honest. It would be really boring to see that as the main char as he hardly moves in any way.
Just making him waddle back and forth or bounce up and down like the Rtp ones will help a lot.

So, just add a bit more personality to it and it'll work just fine. I mean he is not a robot right? Is he hasty? Make him look like he can barely wait to attack ect.

Experiment with rubbing out things like arms and legs and redrawing them from scratch in a new position. After a while you start thinking of the poses as individual sprites rather than variations from the same one which vastly improves the battlechar.

It's good to see you trying to make things yourself, though. You're moving in the right direction!

Thanks for the advice. I'm now working on the poses and making weapon sets to fit his hands.

what is he doing in the third row?

Don't you think the whole idea of a Three panel animation for everything is kind of Inconvenient?
If only there were a solution...

Oh wait! there is!.
Battle Animations.

And thats the only thing I use when making battle sprites.
Now Instead of a Three panel animation for My main characters attack I have a 40 Panel animation.

If you don't know how Go into Battle Animation 2, and go to the Extra Tab. there you can set your battle animations as Battle Characters.
That way... Whatever you were trying to do in the third row may seem a bit more smooth.
