Here is a collection of sample games made with RMVX.

From what I can tell, you can either use the 2k Front-View Battle System or a 2k3 side-view battle system for the DBS. If that still doesn't suit you, you may either use the in-game scripting modeled after 2k3 to make a CBS, or use an RMXP script as proven by the last sample game. Here is the believe list of 2k3 styled event commands.

Seriously this is awesome. I'm a little mad that the DBS doesn't have animated monsters, but this is a very good start. People say it runs a little better than XP. I REALLY REALLY WANT IT!
There is supposed to be a trial version available in Japanese. What are your opinions? Are you still more excited for excited for the homade Sketch program or what?

It seriously bothers me that the damage doesn't show up on the monster when you hit it. The last game included that but I have a feeling it required large amounts of coding.
-
It bothers me aswell lol, i hate games where you dont know how much damage youve inflicted... i think yeh it might take a bit of coding but whats the point in making a half-assed maker
-
It wojuld just take a code snippet to change that.
Actually, in the existing code, there is probably just a value that you set to "false" or "True"
Default systems
EDIT:
Is it just me, or did it look like there was some sort of mode7 built in?
The first map, the houses had 3d sides...they moved as the camera did.
And in a title screen for one of the alter demos, there was distinct mode7, but it was hard to tell if it was in game, on account of it only being used in the title screen.
I think upon release, people will say things like "This suxxorz, its like all the suck from 2k and XP mixed." but i think its going to be a superior game making program
-
For the damage not showing up, it might just mean you can make your own battle mechanics or something, where you just set values to different variables. That would be a really nice feature to have.
I noticed the 3d thing too. Are you talking about that robot game with the city?
-
the robot game was one of them...
Andf then there was a really classic feeling demo, with a title screen that was very obviously a screen capture from a mode 7 shot. The maps were laid out very simply, which seemed to be designed with the intention of a mode7 vehicle script. Im wondering if the auto-tile-like house feature is meant to be implemented with an in-system mode7 script. Most mode7 scripts so far are terribly buggy or laggy

I took a second look at the video. It DOES show the damage. Look in the text box at the bottom.
I admit it's not what people are used too.
-
in one of the battle systems shown, it did show the dasmage as a red number popped up over the battle sprite
-
ill play this for a while it might be good
i'd make a wrpg if its easy cuz im done w/ rpgs w/ no rp(fuk japan)
-
...found an English video... right near that one.

lol.
-
the english vid was ghey. it may as well have advertised a k-tel waffle maker
-
but, shows that they are keeping the default front 2k style.

yeah, what AFL said.
it has the same great fault that RMXP had.
you have to code in a side view system.
and you will probably have to code the 3-d stuff too
its not like i'll ever get to use it, unless someone steals it. i wouldn't know how or where to buy it.

Youre being retarded. It has the front view system, AS WELL as the side view. Did you not watch the video in the initial post? You die now.
Seriously though, all joking aside, Youre dead. NO no no... The side view system is a selectable default battle engine. I hear they are keeping both systems.
And its not so much a "fault" as it is, a customizable feature. Changing a couple of x-y co ordinates in the XP systems default scripts (look for the purple numbers) will change the front view to a side view if you import different battlers.
