Title: Best of 2007!
Post by: Cosmos on December 22, 2007, 07:58:15 PM
So we're gonna talk about the best "movies" in 2007. My personal favorite has to be I am legend. That movie is fuckin awsome. Disagree or agree?

Yes, this topic will be made every year  :D

I really need to see Legend. A lot of people said they cried from watching it, which is weird because it's a zombie flick.

I don't know if it came out in theatres this year, but Black Snake Moan was awesome. If you haven't heard of it, chains up a white girl because she's addicted to sex. XD!! Everything about that movie was perfect.

I was about to cry in the movie it was just deep. It was more about him being isolated from other ppl for years. It was great tho.

How was pirates 3 bad? I thought it was the best one. That pirates song was awsome.. <<
Title:
Post by: aboutasoandthis on December 22, 2007, 11:35:46 PM
I finally saw Pirates 3. It was awful... Way too much talking for what's supposed to be a Disney Blockbuster. It makes you wonder where their budget went.
Title:
Post by: Archem on December 22, 2007, 11:57:17 PM
Too much talking? What, do you not like a story or something? That's pretty damn bad.
Title:
Post by: aboutasoandthis on December 23, 2007, 12:12:32 AM
Just saying, if I wanted to watch a movie for its story, I would want to watch a pure drama. For a movie like this, I would much rather watch it for the visuals. With that said, the story wasn't that great either. What made the first one so good was that it was condensed and consistent. This one just had too many people, and tried way too hard to be this epic movie.
Title:
Post by: Cosmos on December 23, 2007, 12:14:50 AM
Well you know nowadays it's hard for people to sit still and listen to ppl talk for long periods of time when they got ADD and all  :p
Title:
Post by: HackersTotalMassLaser on December 23, 2007, 12:28:20 AM
I didnt say it was bad, it just wasn't what I expected off the last installment.

i expected a more interesting ending, since the whole movie got kinda crazy and weird at the beginning, I thought it might've have something good to offer at the end. And so where the other too, but I enjoyed the others more than I did this, tis all.

And like aboutasoandthis said, i felt the epicness being shoved a little. Like Spiderman 3 and the golden compass. It was like "HERE EPIC! LIKE?!" Xept spideran 3 had story and character problems.

BUT, i still watched it. Even saw the blooper reel :D
Title:
Post by: Roland_Deschain2 on December 23, 2007, 12:48:38 AM
300, I am Legend, 30 Days of Night, Fred Claus didn't suck TOO bad, and Superbad. Pirates 3 was decidedly meh, Will Turner was a moron.
Title:
Post by: Cosmos on December 23, 2007, 12:59:14 AM
I like game plan, it's pretty awsome. Hitman wasn't that great aside from the fighting.
Title:
Post by: Razor on December 23, 2007, 01:04:25 AM
Hot Fuzz, 300 and that other movie I really liked.

What the hell was it?
Title:
Post by: HackersTotalMassLaser on December 23, 2007, 01:05:50 AM
I didnt see hitman. But I've heard too many mixed feelings about it. I dont know it didnt call to my attention, I didnt even know who played the lead role, and was never interested in looking it up. At first i thought it was vin diesel, and i was like "YEAH!" but then it wasn't and i went meh.

How could i forget hot fuzz! That movie was wicked.
Title:
Post by: Roland_Deschain2 on December 23, 2007, 01:08:02 AM
Yeah, Hot Fuzz was cool... I never bothered with Hitman, video game movies tend to suck hardcore.
Title:
Post by: Cosmos on December 23, 2007, 01:21:28 AM
It was like... the actor looked consitpated all the time. So throughout the entire film we were making fun of him cause his acting was dry. Honestly the only good parts of the film were the fight scenes like when he stepped on some dude's head or stabbed some guy through the *** with a sword. That was about it.

I still haven't seen hot fuzz..

Transformers is awsome too. Golden compass was alright.. it might've been the animals and nicole kidmen that made the movie for me. Those kids' teeth hurt my eyes.. << Spiderman 3 was horrible and so was superman. Shrek was disappointing. p2 was corny.

I wanna see beowulf.. and sweeny todd... <<

lol...

And they still making shrek 4 and 2 more compass movies
Title:
Post by: Cosmos on December 23, 2007, 01:36:26 AM
I'm so serious  :p

Really? I thought they were only doing that if the golden compass did good in the box office..

And more shrek movies is overkill...

Speaking of overkill I liked saw 4. I know it's all "but why? it's the same crap recycled with a few extra traps in it!" but i enjoy the gory plots and stuff. It was interesting.

One of the worst movies of the year was Halloween... Aside from michael being the shyte outta that boy with a branch.. it was horrible.
Title:
Post by: HackersTotalMassLaser on December 23, 2007, 01:59:33 AM
Saw 4 is more of the movie I'll wait for on dvd. You know hopw it all ends anyway. They all die and you kept guessing til the end just to know you were so off.

Worst was the last mimzy for me. BIGGEST PIECE OF FECES EVER! Futurisic psychic bunnies that float, what? sabes que, would've been better if it was a floating turd. it would've been more interesting.

Anyway i know it's 2007 stuff, but here's movies some people may look toward the future!

1) Dark Knight
2) Kung Fu Panda
3) The Forbidden Kingdom
4) Iron Man
5) Indiana Jones KotCS
6) James Bond 22
7)Speed Racer
8) the Incredible Hulk
9) The Ruins
10) Rambo
11) The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
12) HellBoy 2
13) the Next harry Potter  XS
14) The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
15) Babylon A.D.
16)Wall-E
17) Valkyrie

And that's all the movies that I know of that have either, caught my attention or made me want to look a ittle bit more into it.

um from that list the only movies i wanna see are iron man, the mummy, hellboy, and narnia. the rest i dun know about or care for *incredible hulk UGH*

Title:

There is supposed to be a three part Avatar: The Last Airbender series directed by M. Night Shyamalan.

I'm praying that it will be great. I really love that show...
Title:
Post by: HackersTotalMassLaser on December 23, 2007, 02:28:17 AM
i dont know what they're thinking with these remakes :D

the only movies that i want to see from there are kung fu panda, forbidden kingdom (both jackie chan movies asdgasdg, well almost both), narnia, the mummy, narnia, iron man, babylon and Wall-E (seems to be pixar's next big hit)

I am not sure what will smith's next movies set for 2008 will really be about, there isnt much on them xept plotlines , but i end up seeing whatever he does anyway.

EDIT:
I read rumors about that, supposedly for 2009. But as far as I know the story only needs two more books. Dont know how a movie (however might be made) might be applied. I however wouldnt mind seeing. Avatar is far the best american-anime-wannabe show, uptodate.
Title:
Post by: coasterkrazy on December 23, 2007, 03:36:51 AM
I might get screamed at for saying this, but I personally think that Harry Potter 5 was pretty well done...

But anyway, for working at the movies, I haven't seen a whole lot. This year, I believe I only saw Shrek 3, Harry Potter 5, The Simpsons, the last third of The Mist, and Fred Claus. Oh, yeah and Mr. Woodcock... yeah...

Oh and parts of Sicko and the end of a bunch of movies, including Hair Spray, American Gangster and Gone Baby Gone.

So overall, I'm not too up there in terms of seeing the most popular movies.
Title:
Post by: ZeroKirbyX on December 23, 2007, 04:13:12 AM
You know why HP5 was great?

Because it was confirmed that Dumbledore is actually a member of the Village Hidden the Mist. I mean, when he used Water Prison Jutsu on Voldemort it was confirmed.
Title:
Post by: Moosetroop11 on December 23, 2007, 10:52:15 AM
Hot Fuzz, I guess. I haven't really liked very many films this year. Golden compass was, typically, too short. Any film based on a big book should be three hours long. No exceptions.
Title:
Post by: Cosmos on December 23, 2007, 03:50:03 PM
Oooo I love avatar. I havent been watching it the last couple of weeks tho, too tired.

Hairspray! Omg I forgot about that one. I love that movie the songs were so god damn catchy.. <<

And I dunno.. the harry potter movies are just so disappointing... :S
Title:
Post by: aboutasoandthis on December 23, 2007, 11:25:06 PM
The new Avatar movies sound like a good idea. Shyamalan asked if he could do it after watching the whole first season with his daughter, and has since watched most of the other episodes. The wiki also says that he will work closely with the original writers in order to keep it consistent. If they do it right, it could be a Disney killer.

I thought Harry Potter was nicely done too. I hated the book, but I think this one was the best movie so far.

Did anyone else see Reign Over Me with Adam Sandler?
Title:
Post by: HackersTotalMassLaser on December 24, 2007, 12:36:56 AM
Suprisingly no, considering I am an adam sandler fan
Title:
Post by: Linkforce on December 24, 2007, 06:20:13 AM
I Am Legend was great.  My only complaint is that I wish it ended in a less cliche way.  The book is a bajillion times better though.  Which is the most case for all books turned to movies.  Still woved it though.  :D
Title:
Post by: Cosmos on December 24, 2007, 03:36:59 PM
Yeah... I wanna read the book :D
Title:
Post by: HackersTotalMassLaser on December 24, 2007, 05:55:08 PM
If you read the book, don't get too hook on it to compare it to the movie in all extent. There's a lot of intense criticism about the movie on the book because of some important differences, and people forget to see some movies as an adaption, then end up being frustrated and disappointed. Though you're pulling a reverse here so i don't know.

As far as I know, both are great in their respective manners.

Sam dies, or Neville surrenders his life for the future, or his family is killed.

For me, 300, Legend, Superbad, Transformers... and ummmm... ****, I don't even remember what else has come out this year.

American Gangster was the worst (to me)

Leave. Now

Batman???

Dark Knight = Best batman ever. I want to see that more than anything ever.

Basically, I want to see that, and Indy, and that's it. Everything else there sucks.

1) Dark Knight
OK, going to be amazing.
2) Kung Fu Panda
No idea what it is. Sounds like a stupid *** disney movie. No thanks
3) The Forbidden Kingdom
Sounds... interesting, maybe. MAYBE.
4) Iron Man
Yay.. a movie about the 2nd worst 'hero' ever. What's next? AQUAMAN?
5) Indiana Jones KotCS
This I look forward to.
6) James Bond 22
Another one? Maybe if they get a decent bond I'll watch it. No more blonde douche from Casino Royal.
7)Speed Racer
No idea what that is.
8) the Incredible Hulk
They're... making a sequel? WHAT?
9) The Ruins
No idea
10) Rambo
Please god... no
11) The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
ANOTHER MUMMY? O COME ON!
12) HellBoy 2
Nope
13) the Next harry Potter XS
Maybe, probably will see it with my family.
14) The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
Maybe, the first was good, but like the books, Lion Witch Wardrobe, good, rest? Dull...
15) Babylon A.D.
Isn't that that Star Wars rip off? No thanks. I want Vader, not Bader the cyborg man.
16)Wall-E
What is this?
17) Valkyrie
Hmm, ok, that sounds somewhat interesting. May look into this.

2007 was a dull movie year, in my opinion.

I Am Legend... was not quite as good as I had expected. I fail to see what there is to cry about, I didn't find it very sad at all although I do hate when... Things of the same kind as the thing that was killed/destroyed halfway through the movie are killed or destroyed depending on wether the thing is living or not. Hah, I said it without spoiling! Or maybe I did spoil. It's not very important anyway... But I hate when that happens, even if it does not make me cry. I just like things of the same kind as that thing.

...No one understood a word, right?

Pirates 3 was a disappointment. Not nearly as good as the first two movies.

Next was really awesome, until the ending, which sucked.

I'll have to say that 300 was the best movie of the year.
Title:
Post by: Cosmos on December 25, 2007, 01:33:21 AM
Um no loser. I wasn't a fan of the last batman movie. I dunno, it was boring... and I didn't know dark knight was the second part.

And yes.. it was sad with what happened to sam.. and the family... and ya know..

Yay, a movie about one of the most awesome super heroes, that will feature a super powered mechanical suit flying and shooting down fighter planes. Yes.
5) Indiana Jones KotCS
Shia LeBouf FTL
6) James Bond 22
Daniel Craig has the perfect attitude for James Bond, and anyone that went into it with an open mind would realize that even though he doesn't have black hair, he has the personality similar to that of Connery, just only less womanizing. Protip: Roger Moore didn't have black hair either and he was good.
7)Speed Racer
GO SPEED RACER, GO SPEED RACER, GO SPEED RACER GOOOOOO. Matthew Fox, John Goodman, and Christina Richi. Yes.
8) the Incredible Hulk
First sucked, why make a second?
9) The Ruins
Que?
10) Rambo
Almost as bad as Rocky Balboa
11) The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
Jet Li as an ancient chinese emperor, with a terra cotta army. Very yes.
12) HellBoy 2
With a story written  by Mike Mignola AND Guillermo Del Toro, starring Ron Pearlman, and having ALL the original actors, yes.
13) the Next harry Potter XS
You'll see Harry Potter but not Hellboy? Really?
14) The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
The whole series was dull once you grew up past 10.
15) Babylon A.D.
If thats based on Babylon 5 at all, I might shoot myself
16)Wall-E
New Pixar movie featuring an adorable robot. Yes.
17) Valkyrie
A World War II movie starring nut job Tom Cruise? No thanks.

Surprisingly my mom didn't like it. It was a little too disgusting for her. She like the romance but she hated the nerdy guys.

the whole twist the put on in the very end, to try and foreshadow other movies released under the alien franchise was lame. it had about a 400 year plot hole that a guy could pilot the death star through

And the govt nuking the town was cool, until strangely all of the idiot stick colorado kids lived, and somehow the insectous beasts all dies.

It was gay and disappointing  the Hybrid monster was pure faggotry

END SPOILER

Knocked up was shitty

OH DID I MENTION HOW NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN WAS TEH BALLSIEST THING IVE EVER SEEN? AND HOW IT WAS PURE SWEET?
