Title: RPG Maker on Windows Vista?
Post by: aboutasoandthis on January 21, 2008, 07:04:47 PM
My folks just bought a new computer with Windows Vista. I managed to reinstalled RPG Maker on this new one, but I keepd getting problems related to it. Whenever I try to create a new project, I get this menu saying "Project creation could not be completed." No project or project folder is created.

I think it's just a security issue. I've tried creating new folders in the C:/ Drive section, and I get pop-ups asking for my permission. I'd like a little advice before I do anything stupid. Is there anyone here with Vista that has had this problem?

I got it on Vista but I can't play a game on fullscreen...

But I only create my project folder in "my documents", it doesn't work in the Rpgmaker folders.

Not sure if it's of any help... but still.

Actually that's perfect. I can't test it out now, I'm typing this on my other computer, but that sounds like it'll work.

He has a point.  :p

It still doesn't work. I've cut and pasted it both in My Documents and on the Desktop. Any ideas?

you have to run the program as an administrator. If you have rpg maker on your desktop, simply right click it and go down to properties.  no in properties they should automatically put you in the short cut tab. find the compatibility tab. make sure your running the xp service pack 2 and check the box at the bottom that says run as an administrator. if i messed remembering a detail let me know. hope it helps.
