Title: The Brag About How Good At GH You Are Thread
Post by: Osmose on February 05, 2008, 06:49:40 AM: It seems that quite a few of the people around here are avid fans of the Guitar Hero series, so we might as well start bragging about where we're at.

Personally, I'm currently running through GH3 on Expert AGAIN. I had it for the Wii and got to Raining Blood (Last song keeping me from the Devil) before going on Christmas vacation and having to re-do it twice, once at a friend's house, and once at my own. And then I just recent got it for my 360 so I'm doing it a fourth time. Bah! Raining Blood, Devil Went Down to Georgia, and Fire and Flames are the only songs on GH3 that I haven't beaten on Expert.

GH2 I've beaten way back in the day on PS2 and just recently again on my 360, although it's not my copy. I'm planning on beating Jordan on Expert with the Wireless Les Paul that came with GH3. Ten times better than the shitty X-plorer my roommate is letting me borrow.

Rock Band I haven't given quite as much time too, although my best band is around 400k fans (In one night, we haven't played since due to location restraints) and I beat Career on Hard.

As of now my personal goals are to beat my buddy Tyler, who performs better than me although he barely every uses his HammerOns/PullOffs.

So in total:
1 PS2 GH2 Gibson SG Red Guitar
1 Wii GH3 Gibson Les Paul White
1 360 GH3 Gibson Les Paul Black
1 360 Rock Band Fender Stratocaster Black

1 360 Rock Band Drums
1 360 Rock Band Mic (Whee USB general-purpose mic!)

Never saw the South Park episode, although I'd like to.

No PS2 means that I missed out on the first three installments, and my inability to find GH2 anywhere prevents me from playing anything released before '07. As far as bragging, I'm up to the last tier on expert, and Raining Blood and One are kicking my ass. I can finally beat everything on expert, though. You know, not counting Raining Blood, One, Devil Went Down to Georgia, and Through the Fire and Flames. The finger-murdering songs. I'm still working on being able to five star every song on hard, though. I've only got a handful left.

Post by: Apex on February 05, 2008, 10:05:10 PM: Bought the third one when it came out for Wii, and regret it seeing that they STILL don't have downloadable songs for it. If I ever get the chance, (Which I wont.) I'd trade the Wii version for the PS3 version, JUST IN CASE an actual good song were released for DLC, even though they cost money, which is BS.

I've beaten Medium with Five stars on everything, and most of Hard with five stars, except "Before I forget" which is keeping me from advancing. But it's not like I could beat Raining Blood or One anyways, so there isn't much of a point.

I'm about half way through Expert too.

I just got it for Wii last Thursday, and I made it to the end of career mode on medium that night and beat it the next day. Over the last few days I've been working my way through career mode on hard, but now set 7 is completely destroying me. I can't even come close to beating Before I Forget or 3's and 7's. On Knights of Cydonia, I always fail at about 65% of the way through. I did somehow manage to beat Stricken though. So yeah, I suck, but I'm working on it. :p

I was about to say "That's nice, but it's not that hard on normal", but then you mentioned that you lack a guitar. I envy the fact that you can even use the standard controller in that game.

Beating career mode with a standard controller is one of those obscure achievements that I'm eventually going to go do. Finishing career on left is my first priority, though, once I beat Expert, which is easier said than done.

I did the lefty thing, although to be honest, I was really just playing it righty while holding the guitar at a very uncomfortable, very awkward angle. I also did it on easy, but by God, I didn't get more than half a dozen (that's long-terms for less than six [which is long-terms for < 6]) songs at four stars.

Still working on being able to beat it on expert... The difficulty jump is impossibly high.

Right now I'm on my way through medium on GH3(since Activision was gay and didn't make the achievments stackable) and I am almost through hard all the way through hard on all of my Rock Band instruments, except for the singing cuz I already beat it on Expert. So thats where I am....woohoo.

The New GH4 game is supposed to be coming out in 3-4 months, its supposed to be Guitar Hero 4: Aerosmith or something in that arena. I think they could have done better.

I don't have Rock Band, but I've just played it. I have to say, the first time I played, I got tough singing on expert on about 5 songs. I think they were Reptilia, Dont fear the reaper, Highway Star, Train Kept a Rollin', and Jukebox Hero. My friend downloads lots of crap.

For the GH4 Game, are you talking about the one on the DS, or another console one? They should put in Smells Like Teen Spirit. The song kicks butt. Plus I just figured out the whole song on Jam Sessions.

Oh yeah, just 5 starred Cliffs of Dover and One. Still haven't tried Number of the Beast, and still stuck on Raining Blood. I HAVE TRIED IT WITH THE CONTROLLER. I SUCK

And I played Rock Band for many, many hours over the weekend. It's infinitely better than Guitar Hero. Period.

Besides, I'm dying to play Walk This Way and Dream On anyway.
