Title: How do you social-network?
Post by: Osmose on May 01, 2008, 03:11:08 PM: Out of curiosity, what social network or blogging sites do you actually use?

For me, I've had a Livejournal for a long time (Since a few months before I joined Charas, actually) but I don't update it constantly, maybe once every couple of weeks or so. I do check it though because most of the people I've friended make interesting entries (Especially Scott, who's currently on a trek across Eurasia).

The only other things I actively use are Facebook, which is effective for keeping track of people I know in person, and Twitter, which I only just started using to get into the habit. I figure Twitter will come in handy when I want to, say, post updates over a day when I'm working on the site or something.

Post by: GrooveMan.exe on May 01, 2008, 04:28:21 PM: I have/had a MySpace, but I never used it. Specific sites for social networking are overrated, IMO. The Instant Messenger and/or the MMO of your preference gets the job done 9/10 times.

I'm not talking about anyone specific though.

If I don't know somones phone number or AIM/MSN, myspace is an easy way to get in contact with people, but I never go on myspace and browse peoples profiles to see whats going on in their lives or anything. For the longest time, my myspace was just the defualt page and no information filled in at all, thats the way to go.
