Depending on term limits, the Mayor of Charas will be elected every so often and will be able to access the private forum and discuss site changes and policies and such. They'll be responsible for various things, and if nothing else we'll give them annoying tasks just to keep them busy. :P
Of course, since they're elected, there have to be campaigns, which are part of the fun. Again, the election process has yet to be fully worked out, but if you're thinking about running, nows as good a time as any to begin the advertising.
I'll post here again once we figure out rules and a date.

Well it's really simple. Purple is a quite famous spriter and actually knows quite a lot about coding.

Right, what I mentioned before. I'll offer an impartial opinion regarding subject matter that will directly affect the forum. Instead of fooling people with a charismatic facade, I'll weigh all situations, being sure to research both public opinion and moral correctness before making a decision. Firstly I'd ask the person about it. It couldn't hurt too much to try and get them to admit to doing it. If not, I'd work with the administrative staff to think of a solution. - Message n00bs. Carefully explain to them a brief history and tell them not to get involved in stuff. Their involvement only complicates things and adds fuel to Raffie's small mental bonfire. Put particular emphasis on N00b 2 since he/she seems to take an aggressive approach which will probably inflame the situation and cause a small war between the n00bs, making problems.
- Bonk trolls. Say something about how they should stop what they are doing and leave before more serious action is taken. Supporting Raffles is retarded and nothing to be proud of. Run IP checks on both, as a precaution.
- Run IP checks on new Raffles account. Check it against the IP addresses of current members, especially the guy who has already posted, just in case.
- Get administrative staff involved. Let them decide what to do about Raffles. I personally would suggest that they ban Raffles' account and ignore his empty threats.
- Keep vigilant for the next few days, in the likely event that Raffles decides to spam the forum or something.
I am aware I will probably have made a number of glaring errors which would probably have opened a great hole in the space-time continuum, but it's 10:23PM and I'm tired.

4. PM oldies, reminding them not to egg on the troll, because that's what he wants, really.

- Wait for admins, since, really, you can't do anything in a possible Raffles attack.
- While I wait, I point out to those fakers that Raffles has left the internet. Also, run some IPs.
- Basically tell newbs that Raffles was a troll who periodically came back to our forum.
- Ignore and/or quote all his text and answer with "NO U" (believe me, in the end, it's the best you can do against Raffles)
- Chaos ensues
- Admin arrives, bans Raffles
- I get un-mayored because of my innability to take the situation seriously. And probably a few bonks.

But honestly, "don't feed the troll" doesn't work, and people would continue trying to argue with him. If it got out of hand, I would do one of two things:
-Start bonking people who were posting against him. This could easily be viewed as a very negative thing, but it would get the point across
-Start posting directly. I would mess with his head, and post random stuff that only tangentially related to whatever he was spewing out. Again, this is exactly what a troll wants, but it would keep him occupied for a while (hopefully long enough for a mod or admin to get on)

Unfortunately, one of the latter would probably end up happening. Containment is, in theory, a great idea, but the allure of taking out a villain is just too great for some people... staff included.
