Title: Awesome Monster Set
Post by: Raukue on May 22, 2008, 01:58:04 AM
Long ago, before RPG Maker XP, there was 2003. During that time I had found this awesome monster set. It was a large file, came with monsters all of the same style! Not monsters from other games or anything all mixed up, but just all of one artist or something.

How can I explain it... it was a large zip file. The style was rather simple looking yet looked pretty good. Had alternate colors of a few monsters like a rabbit. They were side view, looking to the right so it was perfect for RPG Maker 2003. I think it would still be good to use in RPG Maker VX, more so if doing a side battle scene.

It was an organized set. It was not all random monsters of different styles put together. They were sideview and simple. Simple plain style and simple colored but it looked good. They had about I dunno, 200 in there, all of the same style, the same artist.

It is probably rare, it came in a zip file as I said. It was just real nice.

This site might have it but there are just too many pages and don't seem to be zip formatted so even if I do find em it will involve a lot of saving.

Umm, I used to have the link to a website named Naruma, who made lots of artwork for RPG makers. Try and google that.

So... It wasn't the RTP collection then was it?

Nope. It had a lot of monsters, all the same style by the same artist. There were variations of monsters like a Skeleton, then a black skeleton, then one with a sword, another one that was maybe a captain... so on.

The way it was colored was just a solid color and made a darker for where there would be shading. Not many different color pixels to come up with a look like with snes monsters.

I downloaded one from Phylomortis, which seems to be gone. I may still have the zip. I'll see if I can find it.

Ooo, neat. Hope you can find it and hope it is the one. If it is, would need to get that circulating around the internet so it is a common resource. Heh.

Isnt this a request?

A request would be to ask someone to make something though, wouldn't it? I just need a link or whatever to where these can be found, then it becomes a true resource topic.

Hmm, it doesn't really make sense in my head cause your "requesting" a link.

I think I know what you are looking for, unfortunately I can't remember the link.

Were the graphics like this?

Seeing this might help people find the site in question.

EDIT: oh crap this isn't too much of a bump right? o_o;

EDIT2: After searching through the resource links topic, I found the site! http://www.geocities.jp/montadot/
