Yeah, the first one wasn't all that successful here, so we're giving the second one a miss.
Pokemon Hunter 3: The Search for Curly's Gold
The third game I've made in RM2K. At this point, I basically know the program through and through. Although this installment isn't quite as important to the series' overall plot, it's easily the best game I've made yet.
What's New:
This game emlpoys a few more systems than its predecessors, so here's the rundown on what you can expect.
Map System:
The game takes place inside a gigantic mountain with three floors, two basements, and tons of spacious caverns. As such, it can be confusing to navigate. So, if you get lost in the mountain, using the Mountain Map from the inventory screen will place a picture in the top left corner. It shows the floor you're on and what cavern you're in with a blinking yellow dot. It also shows where the caves connect to each other and arrows indicate places you can climb and descend floors. Letters show places where special kinds of water can be found. The only things it doesn't show are the layout of the land in each cavern, and exactly where in the cavern the hero is. I couldn't make it too easy for you, could I?
Oh, yes, and using the Mountain Map again from the inventory would turn it off. A full description of the map and its key can be found in the game's instructions.
Day System:
This game runs on a system of days. Each day is two hours long. For the first hour, the letters "AM" blink between the numbers on the timer. After the first hour expires, the player is warned that midday has come and the timer is reset with another hour. After midday, the letters "PM" blink to indicate the difference. When the second hour expires, the player is forced to return to camp before the sun goes down (the mountain can't be navigated at night). During the evening, the player can talk to their friends before going to bed. Later in the game, there are minigames that can be played at night to earn special coins for unique weaponry. The timer runs during cutscenes and normal battles, but stops when the game is paused and during boss/special battles. If the timer expires during a normal battle, the battle will end as if you ran away.
If you finish what you set out to do before the two hours are up, you can beat down the time by resting in the camp. Staying at the camp "Inn" offers three choices for how long to rest. You can stay for 15 minutes (which knocks 15 minutes off the timer), you can rest until midday (which resets the clock to 1 hour), or you can call it a day (which ends the day right then and there). Sometimes, you can't move on until the next day comes, so being able to cut to the end is very helpful. Also, the midday option disappears if it's already past midday.
The day system doesn't kick in until after the intro, so it's not a pressing issue right away. Take your time and get a feel for your surroundings before you have to worry about time management.
Summon System's Revenge:
The summoning system from PH2 returns, but this time with a little less variety. The only summon in the game is Krabby, and aside from being available to replace a hero in battle, he has a sidetrip entirely dedicated to him. The events that occur in the places you summon Krabby make up a big chunk of the plot, so learning how to use him effectively is very important. His sub-areas offer some of the greatest challenges this series has had so far...
Now that all the fancy stuff's out of the way, on with the plot and such!
Utterly Spoilerless Plot Info:
The Fawsull Mountain. A massive natural structure riddled with countless caverns and passages. Its caves run far underground, setting its base in a prehistoric time...
Team Awesome finds themselves faced with the mountain when hired by a group of miners. Their goal is to find the fossils buried deep in the mountain's lowest and darkest caves. Things start out okay, but the mysterious appearance of an unknown creature and a sudden cave collapse turn the originally simple task into a bigger adventure than any of them bargained for! And what does all this have to do with an old legend about Curly's gold?
And...uh...:
That's about all I can really say. This game follows the same formula as the previous two, so if you've liked what I've done before, this game should be no exception. And, if you haven't tried my games before, this is a good one to start with. It's distant enough from the previous games that you could play it without being too confused. It's also a better reflection of what I'm capable of.
Here, have some screenshots:

1. Title Screen
2. Familiar face graphics
3. A good question
4. The Mountain Map in action
5. Timer before and after midday. Tick, tock, tick, tock...
6. Just because they're early enemies doesn't mean they're not dangerous
And, finally, the link to the link to the download link:

The link goes to the official site for the series, where you can find all the games so far. So, if you really want the second game before this one, you can check it out there.
I hope you enjoy my game!

The maps seem kinda simplistic and blocky, but it's poh-kay-mon so I'm used to that. Also you havn't added any characters yet, or is that intentional? ;)

RTP is prone to being blocky. As for additional characters, well, you'll just have to play and see.

Fair and true, I'm hoping to play it soon then.
When is the demo out?

What I don't get is why you use those chipsets and backgrounds...
Wouldn't it be easier and perhaps a bit more fitting if you used pokemon chipsets and backgrounds instead? It's kinda like a major graphic clash there with the rather dark RTP background and then the bright pokemons.
But, keep this up anyway.

Easier? No, not really. When the game is 90% RTP and the only things clashing are the monsters (which don't clash all that bad imo), you make a few exceptions. I don't use Pokemon chipsets/battle b-grounds because this isn't meant to be received as a Pokemon game. It's a normal RPG with Pokemon in it. That's been the premise all along.

It's already a downloadable full game, dude.
