This is my first proper rpg maker game and is still open to many changes character-wise and story-wise

1600 years ago, the world was a much different place. Human progression seemed impossible as the many states kept warring amongst themselves. The fighting lead to only a world wrought by suffering until a man named Teylre Haada appeared and ceased the fighting. He had managed to tap into mysterious powers through a phenomenon he called "Eve". He explained that Eve could only happen at twilight and at spiritual hot spots on the planet, however, he never explained how to activate it or why it exists, saying he wanted to say, but could not understand it himself.
Shortly after the fighting, Haada disappeared and a shrine was built to honour him where he was last seen. A mountain now known as mount Haada.
Over time, "Eve" was forgotten and Haada became no more than a story for children, passed down the generations.

The lands seem at peace, hoever under this shroud, the inner workings of the country of Doleria is dominated by mistrust and greed.
Assassins were hired to remove people from power and many powerful people were murdered.
At the height of this unrest, there is the risk that the problems may begin to effect the people which could plunge the Dolerians into civil war.

Sero, a young man who sees his future as an assassin prepares for his first mission, he is to kill Magi Rokhan, who is believed to be at the centre of suspicious activity at the shrine of Haada.

Sero Elvea:
Age: 22
Weapon: Assassin Blade
Magic: N/A
Sero was born poor and was never destined for greatness. In an attempt for a better living, Sero began to train as an assassin as the proffession had a high pay. Sero knows little to nothing about his heritage, but to him it never mattered, his life had never been great and he never questioned it. Sero has little social knowledge and finds human contact often awkward. Sero is notorious for having no sense of humour.

Arlene Tila
Age: 21
Weapon: None
Magic: Elemental Magic
Arlene is one of the few thousands that can access magic. As an assassin, she was originally seen as powerful, but impractical as her magic attracted to much attention. This was until she showed that magic leaves no traces detectable by ordinary guards.
She is part of a three man team that was sent to Haada Shrine. She meets up again with Sero in the Southern City.

Marten Kolv
Age:31
Weapon: Assassin Dagger
Magic: None
Marten is in Sero's assassin team, and travels with him to Mount Haada until the team of three splits up after the target is taken care of. Arlene returns to the group, but Marten seems to disappear.

Claud Eris
Age: 15
Weapon: Sword
Magic: None
Claud is the grandson to the head Magi at Haada shrine. He joins Sero after his grandfather is murdered in the hopes that on his travels he can get strong enough to kill the murderer responsible. He thinks of Sero as an older brother and is one of the few people that Sero cares about.

Markus Fris
Age: 24
Weapon: Dagger
Magic: Healing Magic
Markus knew Arlene before she became an assassin and has always secretly been in love with her. He joins Sero to be closer to Arlene and is always trying to be near her, though he realises that Arlene could develope a love interest for Sero.

(There are more characters that are still in developement.)

I'd like to say more but it would include spoilers, and this story is also driven by character developement around the main plotline.

Looks cool, but the three-person asassin team that gets divided sounds a bit like Naruto :-/.

Now that you mention it...
but the game is more about fitting in with normal society and the characters' reaction to the events, rather than being an assassin based game. I just needed a reason for the three knowing each other prior to visiting the city.

About screenshots and demos...
Screenshots I'll probably put up tomorrow or later tonight.

The demo hasn't really got a proper release date yet, but I only need to finish off the main city so I'd say a month or two so I can tidy anything up.

Hm... awesome. Not sure if the fourth screen matches the rest of the pics, but generally, your mapping skills aren't bad at all.

And I don't know why, but I really like that last screen. It's very open, but something about it makes it eye-catching.
