So, I'm upgrading my crappy PC into a decent PC.
Unfortunately, I only have PCI slots, and every single decent video card I've seen requires a PCI-E slot. Does anybody have any suggestions on a decent PCI Compatible video card?

Just buy a Mac, I guarantee I run Windows XP faster than your computer will even when upgraded.
Nah, just kidding on "Buy the Mac thing."

You know what could help us out in helping you out? Giving us an example of what you're shooting for. "Decent" isn't very specific.
-
I've been told that to upgrade my PC would require a new PC.
This is because the motherboard is old and doesn't have the slots necessary for today's newer cards and such.
My point is it may apply to you too.
-
Yes, but I can't afford a new PC on Min. Wage working at McDonald's :P
-
Depends on how much you have left after essentials. And how you save it. And whether or not you are up to building the computer yourself.
-
You could always blow on the cartridge.
Have you tried blowing on the cartridge.

I considered building the PC, but after looking at the price, I decided to just do the essentials for now. New motherboard, processor, RAM, and Graphics card. I'll just use my current HDD and an external one.
And on the side, I'm buying a new disk drive just for shits and giggles :P
Later on, I'll probably get a new case, power supply, HDD, top-line GFX card, etc...

Y'know, I'm in need of an upgrade, too. I'm trying to save the cash for a new card (already know I'm about $150 short of the one I want), since all the new fangled games I want need something a bit better than a GeForce 7300.
I could really use a job...

McD's ain't that bad - I work 30+ hours a week on min. wage. My checks are usually near $300, twice a month :)
-
My fatal flaw is that I flat-out refuse to work in fast food. Are you aware how many job possibilities that cuts out from my available options? Over half.

Just to be naughty ill be stating my salary this summer is 3 129,76 $ monthly exactly pre tax, after high school education only.
On topic I recently updated my comp, with new motherboard etc, as long as you get something with PCI-E it should be fine. Im in dire need of a new graphics card as well so I was thinking to buy one of ATI´s new cards called Radeon 4850 I believe, which costs as much now as my old card costed when I bought that few years ago and it is supposed to equal the performance of an GeForce 8800, which is awesome considering the low price.

Yeah, the motherboard has PCIe, PCIe 2.0, and PCI - it's ready for anything lolz
