Title: The Dark Knight
Post by: Archem on July 19, 2008, 02:34:16 AM
= awesome. Seriously. If you replace one variable in any math problem with The Dark Knight, the answer is instantly awesome. Ask a scientist.

FUCK!

Me and my dad were going to see it today, but we didnīt know it was the first night showing, so, naturally, we showed up, and it was sold out.

We ended up seeing Hancock instead. Whatever.

Yeah, I had the same problem dude, except I knew it was opening night and the news told me it was all sold out before I even left my house. Still sucked.

Indeed, you are right! I forgot this!:

The Dark Knight - The Dark Night = Hole in the space-time continuum.

Was so happy to go see it!  :D

Until my gf made us see Mama Mia  :yell:

Dark Knight + Mama Mia - Dark Knight = Not so awesome.

But bring on saturday....oh yes...

Is Heith any good in it? I mean I know he's dead and everything, but someones final role has to be awesome.

Saw it again today (this time, with my brother), and I loved it twice. Once is not enough; I plan to buy it on DVD.

Dark Knight + Mama Mia - Dark Knight = Not so awesome.
Math says that this is true, since The Dark Knight does not exist.

Is Heith any good in it?
Very, very yes.

Great *** movie.

Heath gave an awesome performance, that kicks Jack Nicholson's Joker in the ***. The Joker "magic trick" made me laugh hard. If he was still alive, I would hunt him down and bow to him.

Epic.

Harvey/Two-Face reminds me of a Terminator.

Ironically, Terminator Salvation had a trailer before it, and aparently, it also stars Christian bale.

A must see.

Dent's appearance was highly based on his animated series design, and you can't compare Jack Nicholson's performance to Ledger's. Hell, to say they're playing the same character is stretching it.

I've never been so creeped out and laughing at the same time.  Heath was a brilliant Joker.  I have a whole new respect for him.  Christian Bale is definitely the best Batman ever.  GOD what a film!

Christian Bale is definitely the best Batman ever.
I'm afraid I can't agree, because Adam West was Batman.

And he's friggin' Adam West.

That wasn't what happened. He gave another reason involving his wife. They kept him just like the comics character, where he has multiple back stories and no one really knows which is true.

...I was actually really bored in this movie...I like a lot of scenes with dialogue in them and intense psychological stuff happpening. but I gotta say, the half hour sequences of car chases and stuff blowing up kinda put me to sleep.

Batmans was much less boring though.

My question: Who are the next villains going to be?
Title: Re: The Dark Knight
Post by: ZeroKirbyX on July 22, 2008, 11:50:22 PM
To be honest, I want another Harley Quinn. A character that we don't already know about, but is believable and awesome enough to be integrated into the whole universe.

Am I wrong to assume that Scarecrow showed up in the movie, and stands a pretty good chance of showing up again?
Title: Re: The Dark Knight

I think they just wanted to show whether he was alive or sane after the whole Ra's Al Guul stuff.

Yes, but they need a Joker for her to make it a good one. And no Joker can live up to Heath Ledger's performance. Not even Joker himself.

Did anyone else feel Fox's comment about Batman's armor being able to handle dogs but not CATS was an allusion to a future villain?
Title: Re: The Dark Knight
Post by: ZeroKirbyX on July 23, 2008, 12:55:17 AM
I don't WANT Harley Quinn, I want a character LIKE Harley Quinn made up FOR the movie NOT previously in the comics. Jesus christ, read more than 2 words in a post for once.
Title: Re: The Dark Knight
Post by: Ben on July 23, 2008, 01:52:10 AM
i think they could do a few characters well for the next one

the riddler....set up for a creepy super intellegent serial killer/mas murderer
bane. scarecrow seems alive and criminal
I think some of the villains of the series would better be left out.
Like Sub Zero, Poison Ivy

I think they could do a catgirl if thought about long enough
Title: Re: The Dark Knight
Post by: Archem on July 23, 2008, 01:52:50 AM
...Yeah.

Anyways, he said that the armor could stand up to cats, not dogs. You got it mixed up. Perhaps it is an allusion to Catwoman, but I'm not sure if I want that. Anybody remember seeing the Catwoman movie?

Yeah. Me neither.

Wasn't it that crap movie starring Halle Berry?

Either way, that movie's CAtwoman had low resemblance to the actual one.

My friends and I actually had a convo on the way back from the movie. The list of New Batman villains that are acceptable is as follows:
Firefly
Riddler
Penguin
Catwoman
Vertigo
Deadshot (Even though he was already in Gotham Knight, which is like a gap spanner)
Mad Hatter
Killer Croc
Scarface

Definitely not gonna work:
Sub Zero
Poison Ivy
Man bat
Clayface

The rest fall into some weird maybe area.

ARRRGH. I CANT BELIEVE IT.

In all fairness I did just finish rewatching the MKvsDC trailer, while watching some post Dark night follow up entertainment. Second time going to it in as many nights. That film made my testicles hang another inch lower

I thought something was fishy there, but I haven't been doing the Batman in a while, so I just went with the flow instead of challenging you with what I assumed was ignorance.

Now my chance for a moment in the sun has passed...

I have to disagree that that's a perfect list. Mainly cause you have Penguin in the possible choices. The director has already stated that as long as he's tied to the movies he won't do Penguin because he's too over the top/unbelievable. I agree. He's a comic villain, not a movie villain.

if I had to guess, it'll definitely have Catwoman, likely Riddler, and then some third, major threat villain.
There has to be a major threat, Catwoman isn't evil in her own right, and riddler isn't a threat in his own right, he's not a murderer, he's not a big picture criminal, he's just an intelligent super thief.

So the question, who is the big threat? Talia, Bane, Poison Ivy? Who knows.

*edit*
Oh, Hush/Holiday/Hangman, any of the 3 H's would be cool to see in a movie, but I don't know if they're likely.

Title: Re: The Dark Knight
Post by: lilsniffs3 on July 23, 2008, 11:40:49 PM
If they have Robin, they may screw this up.

I would rather have Catwoman and the Riddler teamed up on Batman.

Speaking of Batman, I was at the Metropolitan Museum in New York and in the superhero exhibit, they have the Dark Knight Batman costume, Catwoman's suit from Batman returns, Robert Downey Jrs. Iron Man suit, and Tobey Maguire's Black and normal Spiderman suits. all of them are the real thing. However, you can't take scetchs or photos.
Title: Re: The Dark Knight
Post by: Ben on July 24, 2008, 12:30:56 AM
there is no need for Robin in this.

I dont think if they introduced Catwoman she would be a straight up villain, but it would make sense to have a vigilante rival hero perhaps.

And the scarecrow was a major threat? Please, in his original form he's only threatenign
when he's Scarebeast. Personally I think if they took their new approach to the Riddler, he could be a great villain.

I don't like the Robin idea at all.
Title: Re: The Dark Knight
Post by: Archem on July 24, 2008, 04:26:14 AM
No need for Robin. He really just doesn't fit the mood here. I think that it may be better to stop now if they can't find an appropriate villain. Don't ruin a good thing by trying too hard to force something.
Title: Re: The Dark Knight

I've been leaning into Riddler or Mad Hatter since the movie. After this thread goin for Riddler though.
Title: Re: The Dark Knight
Post by: Ben on July 24, 2008, 04:32:45 AM
the riddler is the perfect villain for the next installment.

Obviously, he wouldnt have to be wearing green tights. Hell, they wouldnt even really have to do much aside from making him a really really intelligent sociopath.
Title: Re: The Dark Knight
Post by: Archem on July 24, 2008, 05:02:47 AM
I can imagine a sharply dressed man with highlighting green (like a green tie, deep green gloves, a green trim around a black bowler cap, and green socks) with a nice, ?-tipped cane. But his stylings would need to be modified to be more epic.
Title: Re: The Dark Knight
Post by: ZeroKirbyX on July 24, 2008, 05:27:46 AM
I actually picture him being like his comic character, a manically OCD sociopath. I picture him as a guy with a green suit coat, white gloves, a bowler and a cane. I can't picture him being all green like the comics. Like he'll tap the cane three times anytime he puts it down, always leave the riddle, etc. I can totally hear "Riddle me this, riddle me that" with Molossus playing in the background.
