Title: Where do you get your inspiration?

I've been wanting to do an RPG so badly recently, but I can't come up with any decent ideas or concepts. Nothing that I can build on to make an elaborate story, or even to give me a boost of creativity to get me started.

Where do you get your inspiration for your works? I just can't seem to think of anything.

BTW: Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this.

Star Wars books,Star Gate,Fiction and from the Rps I do with my freind.

I usually just listen to music and adapt the imagery I get.

Music is a great one. A song can send you anywhere with anyone and help you create an entire world in your mind.

Certain games aswell, places I've been. Visit a waterfall or something and you'll get a spark instantly!

Well, just think about these things when you want inspiration:

 -Imagine how you wouls want to aspire to greatness, through adventure, and put into a story with other characters.
 -Music IS a great way to get inspiration, I like to listen to adrenaline music, sometimes classical when I want to make somthing sad
 -Watch movies, lots of movies, moveis are a great medium of inspiration, if there was a movie or a scene from your own life that utterly moved you put it into your game somehow and allow it ot move others as well

Music, I listen to a LOT of music. Sometimes I can get a single personality from just a song.

Lots and lots of brainstorming... I've been making my game for a retarded amount of time. But as for inspiration? I guess music, movies, books, personal adventures, anything really. You just got write down whatever ideas are in your head even if they're really cliche, you can fix things like that as you build on your simple idea and eventually it will (hopefully) become an epic tale.

Im not gonna sugar coat this....

I smoke pot. Then I watch a movie or play a game, or do the music thing.
