Me? I prefer ABS, but CBS can be cool, with the right events. So choose away!

Action battle System
Custom battle System.
An ABS in RPG Maker basically is if you think about ita CBS, however, I like the DBS (Default Battle System), but since its not there and I didn't want to vote neither, I just went cbs.

why do you like DBS its so.. not mobile (the characters)

I dunno, I just like the way its set up. Of course if I could I would make changes, but I think it works the way it is, and if you need something more, a cbs is nice, good for you.

I like CBS, since I can make custom stats and comands you just can't in DBS.
I like the DBS, just because old school RPG's rock!

If you could make changes to DBS, CBS, or ABS, what would you change?

If mobility is a problem for the DBS, there is plenty that can be done to fix that. For instance, battle animations with the characters in them performing skills or whatever. It's really simple.

This isn't a game, so I think I'll throw it in RPG Maker Programming.

I vote "Niether", mostly because the others tend to be flawed from time to time, or I'm too lazy to code them/understand them >_>

dbs was great until everyone started using it.
Now to have a game that a lot of people consider "great" you're almost required to make your own battle system.

If they took out some of the nasty problems with the DBS (Not allowing pictures, forcing you to target monsters individually with events rather than being able to generalise 'fist monster, second monster', etc) then it'd be perfect. I must admit I never bothered making a CBS...

I'd make it possible for the DBS to reconize if enemies were close to each other and if they were in line from the hero using spells.
That way you could have many different kinds of skills other than "one target" and "all enemies". That's one of the things I liked the most about Septerra Core. That depending on what character you had, what skills you had, where he was positioned compared to the enemy and all that really mattered. There was skills that hit everythign in a line, things that blew up ect.
That's the kind of thing I like. Just takes a lot of work for the DBS.

I really ABS myself, just because it's alot more interactive, and more free. I've never played a CBS game before though... so I really wouldn't know if I like that better... I think I'll go start searching for some!

its still turned based ^___^, but it has limit ability and rage systems imput, a scan ability, and a system that governs what magics you can use
