*Voice over*
This Winter, Grandy is coming over.
And nothing.
Will be.
The Same.
*awesome movie trailer full of explosions, then cuts to Grandy inside Big Ben's Clock Tower, surrounded by armed men*
Grandy: Tally ho, old chap." *jumps off of one of the clock's face as the clock explodes*
Coming Winter 2008
....
That'd make an awesome movie or not? At any rate, I'm really going to travel over there, and just wondering, since there are some british people over here (I think. Red? White? Under which rock are you guys?), is there any culture things I should know?
-
I love you Grandy.
Culturally you should remember that we love our tea, most of the population are big fans of sport (Football in particular) and thusly take it far too seriously, and a lot of people are stupid. You'll be fine.
I look forward to hearing from you. Or throwing things at you. Whichever.
-
You might be disappointed by our dialect XD There's a serious lack of 'Tally ho's here.
I'm thinking possibly me, you, dragonium, sexy party. But, you know. You might not be cool enough, I dunno.
-
I support that idea provided I can get out and Grandy isn't one of those rapist people.
You know, like Archem.
-
Hey, it's only rape for the first half!
-
Fuuuuuck I still want to go there.
-
Go ahead and have fun for me, Grandy, for my sake. It might be that my trip to Spain will be put on ice.
Also, I think our mutual friend, Gutsman, has an appropriate theme song for this moment. Gutsman?

DUH-NUUUUUUUUUH!
-
Mind coming by the frozen (possibly the only good thing about this place) pile of cheese and fat tourists that is Wisconsin to pick me up? :3
-
GUTSMAN!

Megaman!

Oh, bugger. Pip pip and tea time, what what? Bloody hell.
-
Blimey, gov'na!
-
Actually, I've been known to say 'bloody hell' a lot...
-
Oh, this will be fun! Oh Reginald!
-
I do say, old bean, do please enjoy this little holiday of yours, eh? Make sure to drink your good ol' spot of tea while you're there!
-
Enjoy it while i'm stuck bound to the Continental U.S. T__T
-
You'll love it in the UK. Just look out for:
Chavs
Van drivers
Chavs
People who look like chavs
Football hooligans
Chavs
...and you'll be fine!
-
Wait, for the UK folk, do you refer to these various things as
Bathrooms, Gas stations, Football players, and Elevators
or...
Washrooms, Garages, Footballers, and Lifts?
Just asking. A friend of mine went over there once and said there were definite differences.
-
What the hell is "petrol"?!!
-
Bathrooms, petrol stations (garages sometimes), footballers, lifts.
At least round here. Dialects are faggy.
-
It's also the same thing with French and Quebecer. Except that we do speak very differently.
You're lucky. The farthest I went was Toronto... I'd like to go outside of Canada some time.
-
We brazilians think portuguese people speak funny. Maybe its the same thing with americans and british.
Well, grats grandy. Go ahead and leave brazil forevur.
Well, I don't know how it is from the Brit side, but most Americans think that a British accents are more profound and commanding sounding. Has something to do with all those consonants. I can imagine that Americans sound lazy and/or uneducated. Correct me if I'm wrong, someone.
-
We have some really rubbish ones too... You call it 'gym class', we call it 'P.E' which stands for 'Physical education'... What's with that?

It's actually the same in portuguese. Educação Física.
-
Aula de Ginásio?
-
LOL you two.
-
is there any culture things I should know?
I'm not from the UK but I'd say not blowing up Big Ben for one thing :P

Awwww.
What about that Buckingham stuff?
-
I think that's ok. Just don't go for Windsor.
-
Oh yeah, I forgot the thing you have to prepare for most importantly. Rain.
Not always heavy rain, but on and off, cold, dreary rain. Forever.
-
Yeah. That's all that country is, after all. Forests and small, colorful shacks.
Oh, and over here (at least, in this part of Texas. Can't vouch for the rest of the nation), we call it P.E., too.
