I don't know but alot of other RPG maker sites have PoTm's And I was wondering if charas does or once did do that :|

Gem was running it for a while but then he left. Maybe it will be revived. People need to make more games first. We'll have to wait and see.

We arn't much of a rm site anymore...
-
Our members are too old, they seek perfection if they make a game and therefor you have to wait some years before the game is even half done.
But if you are able to get enough people to do a game each month then go for it.
And I believe that I won a game of the month contest with Sprite for Life.
-
Which reminds me, you need an Award for that. *Bustles off to Private Forum*
The Game of the Month would most likely drum up more games. It'd be good for the site and must be revived.
-
Agreed. However, would we really want it to be full-fledged games? As someone who posted above me said, those usually take years. Mayhap it could be more of a 'Demo of the Month' thing, since demos are much more popular. Just a thought.
-
Bluhman won the month after me with his Alpha force demo.
But since Gem went missing noone started a new competition
And people usually feel panicked when they only have 30 days to make a game.
But it can work, if there are participants.

For once I've made a GOOD statement ;) It doesn't have to be every month...just every other month...I was just wondering

We should do something simple...
Some sites have a "screenshot of the month" award, and the same guy isn't allowed to win twice in a row.
We could also do something like "Character of the month" or "Sprite/mockup/" of the month. Something simple.
I would do this if I had the support.
-
Protip: we're already discussing it. Trust me, we're trying to get things done. Sit and wait, kiddies.
-
yeah I was the project of the month guy. And then i left.
Its really not that hard to do a project of the month. Just find a current demo of a project, or like, an old classic rpg maker title, or just a minigame demo, and then post it. I had some lined up, but then i quit. I could have kept doing it after quitting, as i still had my powers, but then
i had the itch to ban ignorant newbs.
Stu, msn me. I had a sweet game that never made it to the Game of teh month. Stu, just msn me. moar.
