My roommate just got Mega Man 9, and I've basically been having its music drilled into my head. I haven't composed anything in a long time, but I was just sitting here with a bunch of Mega Man music stuck in my head, thinking about the commonalities among the songs and what makes them Mega Man songs. So I threw something together. I called it Discharge Man for some reason. :P Hope you enjoy it.

Yeah, I can dig it. I like actual Mega Man music better, though, but this still sounds good.

If you're trying to make NES style megaman music, wouldn't MIDI be more fitting?
-
I'm certain it's a midi saved as an MP3. Dunno why, but hey, I don't care.
-
I love it. You ever thought about mixing a retro game style midi with some regular guitars and stuff? I reckon it could sound cool.
-
Nah, I'm really more of an original artist. I don't think I've ever done a remix. :P But thanks!
Oh, and if this was a MIDI, then why would I save it as an MP3 and increase the file size ten-fold? If you want to be technical, it's NSF (NES sound file) saved as MP3, but I just assume that most of you don't have NSF players.
So this is the real deal NES music. Sorry I'm just not as good as whoever writes music for Capcom... >_> But I'm glad you can dig it. :P
By the way,
MIDI sounds like this: http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/nes/Air1_2.mid
And this: http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/nes/HardMan.mid
And if you're still not convinced, tell me what instruments I used. :P
-
Can you put up the NSF version? :D
-
Sure thing! Here ya go: http://www.box.net/shared/6d0ym7nvgn :)

'Tis fun to listen to. I've always liked your stuff, I just never commented for some reason.
-
I dig man. Sounds sharp, definitely Mega Man oriented.
-
I love it dude, always liked your NES music. ;)

You misunderstood me. I mean, use midi sounds like an instrument in a band with other stuff. But don't worry, it's already been done to a certain extent.
