Title: A quick homemade charaset
Post by: Desimodontidae on October 24, 2008, 06:08:39 PM
I've been working on a game, but it's been a long long time since I did any custom graphics (well, besides abs bars and stuff... but those don't count). Anyways, this is just a quick, very RTP-ish charaset  that I made of myself, wearing the clothes I'm wearing now. Not much of a character, you can use if you want (I suggest as an NPC...). I don't care about credit, just don't take my signature off. Now, about the sprite... not much shading here, I know. I think in the end I only used about 43 colors... mostly the camo pants. Please let me know what parts I should improve on before I go off making a bunch more for my game. I will post more, as I must practice a bunch

It's alright... A bit basic. RTP really limits you, and as such, I'd say you shouldn't use it. It's practically impossible to pull off much style with it, and it's just so... everywhere. I'd imagine you can do something pretty decent with a non-RTP template. Either way, it's alright. I'd play a game full of it, but not so much for the graphical style, but the style in everything else (story, gameplay, blah blah) that's sure to come with something by you...

Heh, yeah, I just got lazy. And it was just supposed to be practice. I honestly haven't had much time for anything, job, girlfriend, really time consuming. But you've given me a good idea, I think I'll just make my own template. Outlines are tacky, and I think most chipsets are done beautifully and RTP really doesn't compliment that. And it helps the battle systems, and just everything in general.

Sounds good to me.
