I just need everyones opinions on if these is even worth the time, as I've tried making this a couple of times as a NwN .mod and it hasn't worked out really
Basic background information, without extended history or anything:
Myrdia is a D&D world that I dreamt up while taking a tutorial in the Aurora Toolset in NwN, thinking that the little forest needed more history. It's got all of your normal D&D monsters, plus a couple more of my imagination, and it's own plethora of gods. If everyone thinks my gameplay pitch and shtuff sounds alright, then I'll elaborate the details in another official thread
Gameplay pitch:
I was thinking of doing this in Gamemaker, as that's what I'm more skilled in, with a traditional RPG overworld with Platforming battle segments. It'd have a simple Zelda health system, cause I've already made a system for that, with a simple charge based magic system (horrible description for what I have in mind, but that's all I really have). It'd also have a Dark Cloud level up system, as in your weapons level up, instead of you, and you'd also have multiple combat styles, with different weapons equipped to each.
I'm too tired to elaborate my plans with this right now, so just judge off of what you see
Again, if this idea is received well, then I'll start making the game. If not, then I'll edit the concept until I think it's ready

Dungeons & Dragons + Swordcraft Story + Dark Cloud... Sounds pretty decent. Anything you had in mind as far as artistic direction goes?

Hmm, using the dark cloud level up thingy can be hard. Especially if the same character can use many weapons.
I remember back then when you could get 2 different swords from upgrading a simple sword. And those swords could be upgraded to two different swords as well.
That added a lot of variation to the game and it was lovable.
But if you in the same time got a crossbow, spear and dagger. That would be hella' lot of different outcomes.

I already have a map drawn for the world, a somewhat interesting storyline, and a very interesting background for the world
And what's Swordcraft Story?
EDIT:Aww, my idea was already done
That sucks...
Ah, well.
I'll drudge on anyways

Oh yes, that's something I've thought about extensively. It's going to be slightly difficult to get all of the weapon states to save when you don't want to play any more (it's not going to be a short game, I'm thinking around 10-15 hours main quest), and I don't have my magic system quite planned up yet.
Anyways, about the world:
Myrdia is a world that got split in half from a huge cataclysm around 2000 years ago. Some arrogant elf (there's a reason for his race, mind you) decided he wanted to become a god, so he murdered the lesser god of fire. As you can imagine, the god's didn't like that, so they flooded the world, with his palace at the epicenter of the storm. After 3 days, the world was completely flooded, except for the upper halves of the mountain ranges. So basically what was once a ginormous continent is now a bunch of islands.
I'll post the story later, it needs some mega-edits so it's not as lame as it once was
