Title: Map tree error... (Don't know where to put it)
Post by: Hirochi-Zangus on November 30, 2008, 05:00:47 PM
I get this message, "The map tree data is corrupt" everytime I try to open the game I'm making... PLZ HELP! I've put lots of time into the game and wish not to lose it, thank you!

Thats very sad.

Look around the forum, there have been a few topics on this error.  (Don't post in them obviously, but...)

can you not make a map in a new game call it tree map that will be map 1
then copy all your maps in to that game if it can be done that way ?
i think you can copy all your files in to a new game
there has to be a way to fixing it

Map tree error is usually fatal. I don't think there's any way to save your game... I remember a tutorial on fixing it once though, but I don't think it was 100% reliable.

There is a way.
I remember Zerlina asking this some months back. And I think she managed to solve it.

This is from Kobra's Realm Forums:
Quote
1. Make a brand-new project.

2. Go into your old folder using My Computer and look for the last file with the extension ".lmu".

3. In the new project, make as many new maps as there are .lmu files in the old folder.

4. Close out the new project.

5. COPY all of the .lmu files from the OLD folder into the new one and overwrite the files.

6. Now, the size and event markers should be back on your maps.

7. COPY the file called "RPG_RT.ldb" from the OLD folder into the new one and overwrite it.

8. Now your database will be in there.

9. Copy the folders from the old project, and COPY them into the new one, overwriting them.

10. Now all your resources will be in there.

I hope that helps you.

Keep trying with step 7. If you fail, read through it again and make sure you're doing everything right.

Well, I'm glad it worked out.
One simple philosophy is that you keep trying 'till it works. And you did continue to try. And it did work.

Great success and a ****ing victory Mr Hirochi. Now get that game done so we can play it.

I had it once when I was saving a big game and it my old pc went freezing, had to throw it away afterwards....

I suppose you can still save yourself the resources though, but I was using standard so no need...
