Hey there ladies, and gentlemen!
Street Samurai here asking for another request!
I'm making a game as some of you already know!
I have, currently in my stock, Reid from Tales of Destiny 2, and CLess from Tales of Phantasia, BOTH of them wielding a sword!
NOW!
I know, that in both games, they can also wield a Spear! A HALBERD to be preferable!
I was wondering, if someone (Maybe even the person who actually RIPPED it origionally)
Could re-RIP it for me, and make them wield the Halberd, for both Charsets!
And also, if you could include them with the action of Slashing AND thrusting...
Please and thank you@!
-In The Name Of Harman
PS: Also, if you DO RIP it for me, could you include a table sheet of both of them using some of the Spear Tech's for battle Animation?
I hope i'm not being a nuisance, it would really help me... Thanks guys, your the best!

What exactly is a rpg maker hacker?
Anyway.
Ripped graphics= someone took a screenshot of the pose while playing the original game and then pasted it into a template/sheet.
The sheets of Reid and Cless from the game Tales of the world 3 ( kinda like super smash but tales of... characters) can be found at three places:
Thespritersresource
drshnaps
... Actually. I can't remember the third site.
Anyway, check them out. Namco made the game, it's for the GBA and it's called Tales of the world. You should find the sheets in no-time.
The only person in the game who uses a halberd would be Loni(or whatever his name is) but it's kinda short and blue.
Really, the sheets are HUUUUUUUUGE.
But if you want some poses put into a battlechar or battleanimation:
1. Post the poses you want (and like mark them so we know which ones you want where).
2. Tell us what is what and we should be able to copy-paste it into a usable resource.
So, reply soon.

Hahah, i'd say that an RPG Maker Hacker, is a person who is skilled with ripping animations, and crafty when forging templates and stuff...
Anyway,
If you found those two charecter's wielding spears, that's amazing!
But Spriter's Resource never works with me...
I'm a hobby'ist you see...
And quite ignorant to how this whole thing works...
I don't even know how to post hidden links or anything of that nature...
And I couldent possibly be capable of taking an invalid sheet of charsets, or battlecharsets, and modify it myself,
This is why I asked for an, Experienced RPG Maker Hacker...
I thought someone skilled, could take my request and find it himself...
I know, I have nothing to offer in return, so if this is too taxing for anyone, do not hesitate to simply ignore my request...
So, Purple Mage, if you still think you can help, that you are skilled enough to take this knowledge, and assist me, then thank GOD...
If not however, I understand completely

As I said before, post the sprites you want edited to wield a halberd instead of a sword And I'll do it for you.

Okay, this is the Tech Sheet; I need this to go with it (Sorry...)
Wow...
If you can do this, Purple Mage, your GODLLY!
-
So, you want those two with halberds instead?
Shouldn't be that hard. I'll try to find the time but don't expect them before February.
-
Um, okay thanks!
I'll be waiting patiently.
Oh, do you see how, on the CLess battleshots, he is slashing with his blade, and part of the weapon is not there?
Um... Can you try not to add that in?
Heh... ^_^ Sorry...
-
Ack!
I forgot the Tech Sheets!
I'll include them, i'm sorry!!
-
Oh wait... Their there...
Wow, why couldent I see that?
...Ah...
Heheh...
Sorry
So yeah, in total, should be Reid (The Red Haired Guy), two of em', and Cless (The Blonde one with white armor), two of em'
and finally, two more, of each of them, preforming crazy sword manuvers and techs...
Um, okay!
Thanks a million!

There's something you could enjoy learning.
You can use the battle-animation sheets as battlechars.
Make a the animation in the "Animations" tab of rpgmaker. Just like you do with spells and such.
Just put the character on the enemy(as close to the middle as possible) and then put like 3 poses into a line.
Then click "Play" to see how it looks. Just remember to make it pose 1,2,3,2 and not just 1,2,3 like the battlechars.
Like: Take Cless defending pose.
It's both on the battlechar and on the battleanimations sheet.
Create a new spell animation in the Animations tab and name it Clees Defend (just so you know what it is.
Put that defending pose into the middle of the screen like 20 times in a row -aprox.
Then go to Animations 2 tab and check the last page.
You will see all the poses labeled "Idle stance" to "item".
Click "Defending" and you'll see the current animation and the animation for Punch A.
Change the battle animation to "Cless Defend".
Check the box "Battle animation" above the preview box.
The game will now loop the battleanimation chosen over and over in battle just like a battlechar is being loopes.
The pros of this is that you don't have to sacrifice parts of the sprite just because you wanted it as a battlechar.
As you can see: each part of a battleanimation can be far larger than a battlechar.

Ouu, thank you, and now I have somthing to work on while i'm waiting...
Well, this will make my attacking animations, spell casting and much more, alot more interesting.
TIME TO FLASH IT UP A NOTCH!
((And, for the person whom decided to just look at a random forum and see what was in it, and then decided to get agitated because I was not posting things that would satisfy him, bear in mind that I have been a member here for... Well, not too long, and I am present here even less...
So cut me some slack damnit!!))
Anyway, Purple Mage, thank you, i'm going to work now (On the sprites and cooler battle animations) You know how it is, trial and error, see'ing what's cool and what's not...
Also just having fun, hahah!
Now, when I make the BATTLE ANIMATION, like, after I make Cless, or let's just say Ryu from Breath Of Fire 2 (Because he's the hero for my prologue scene), if I make him, take a moment to stance, then draw his blade, hesitate slightly, then charge, and cleave, and I make it so, on the BATTLE ANIMATIONS section, the box that I click, Ryu, he will vanish when I make him attack, correct?
So, i'd have to make it start, with him at the very far right, when he draws, and stances, and then charge toward the center, where the enemy will be, and then maybe charge back...
Right?

Hi. This is Street Samurai again! I'm sorry for bothering you, Purple Mage, but I'd like to know if you finished the char sets for me since you told me to wait till February..and this is the end of February...I am sorry for bothering for you like I said, but I REALLY need them for the game I'm making...
I was wondering if you forgot about this request maybe??
Anyways, please let me know, as I am in dire need of them...
-
I'm so sorry mate.
Been some in school, been some in life, been some in World of Warcraft.
I haven't really gotten myself to do any requests- and for that I'm sorry and apologize.
And this is exactly the reason why game makers need to learn how to do these kinds of things themselves, so they don't have to rely on others to finish them for you.
If you still feel that you do not have what it takes to add a halberd into their hands instead of a sword I'm willing to write this up in my calendar so I'll remember to do it.
Hate to move the date but sometime in march I guess seeing as February is almost over.
-
Sorry I haven't responded. But, yes, I still need that done if you don't mind. I reaallllllyyy need it done pleaasse!
-
I'm sorry, did you get to read my post? I'm sorry. Prpl Mage, but I really need this done for me if you don't mind, or someone else that can. It's for my main character in the quest I'm making...and I need it now to continue making it..If Prpl Mage can't help me out, will someone else please?
-
Ok, here's the thing.
The images you posted turned out to be JPEG.
I started doing Cless some time back but after finishing the first parts of the animations sheet I realized that everything was pretty un-detailed on his sprites(approx 3 in the night= not so much focus).
So I tried to simply change the background colour and came to the grim realization of what had been wrong.
So to show what I mean. I'm just gonna post a thing here. the left is PNG and right is JPEG. open it in paint and try to do anything with the JPEG and you'll see what I mean.
I still suggest that you try this yourself.
I will probably not do this. Because time is starting to become a valuable resource for me lately.
-
JPEGs are bad unless used with UFX that doesn't generate junk pixel clumps. Still I suggest PNGs since they are fairly small, lossless, and are widely accepted.
That's what I have to say on this to further explain what PRPL is saying.
-
Is there a way to get them to be PNG then?
