As some of you may know, I draw a comic in my spare time. One that already stretches common belief of heaven and hell. The few that read it daily are well aware of this and find it the source of the entire comic: that maybe they run in a unified system. But recently, I added a character that not many find true to it.
The character is the daughter of Satan. Now after having a robot made entirely of Nintendo consoles, a skeleton mimicking Dan Balan, and monocles that fire massive lasers, I thought this new addition would go over without any problems. However, I'm getting a lot of "Do you think god would allow Satan to?", "Who is the mother? Who would have a child with Satan himself?", and "Are you trying to make this comic emo?"
In the comic, the common ideal of Satan is merely that of the first Satan, and all predecessors did not see his ways. Because, once you think about, Satan would not voluntarily punish the damned if he were as damned as any of them. So, he ran off, and a new 'Satan' was chosen. From then on, old Satans retired and gave way to new ones. (To be honest, God is the only being in the comic that always held his position.) The system gave way and the Heaven/Hell pact was set up, but that's describing more than I need to. This is all to set up the parodies of human life and pop culture the comic uses.
Now, this thread is not debate the concept, but rather if a character such as Satan's twisted, manipulative, evil, daughter belongs in a world such as this. Amongst the empty faces of a bored Death and friend, a persistently happy angel, and an easily tempered demon.

Some people try to make a living with plagerism. For all I know, you could be searching down each and every webcomic and comic to try to steal ideas.

Well, he's actually described as giving birth to Sin with a burst of flame from his forehead.
Sin herself recounts her birth and subsequent impregnation like so:
"All on a sudden miserable pain
Surprised thee, dim thine eyes and dizzy swum
In darkness, while thy head flames thick and fast
Threw forth, till on the left side opening wide,
Likest to thee in shape and countenance bright,
Then shining heavenly fair, a goddess armed,

Actually, Paradise Lost is quite an interesting read, if the "classical" dialect and religious themes don't bother you...Same with 'The Inferno' by Dante. You'd be surprised with the sort of things Christian Authors used to write about back in the day.

Bought The Inferno a while ago. Need to get used to the writing style, but so far in (Canto 7? I think I'm reading that next) I'm enjoying it.

I read some of The Inferno some time ago. People being dragged through their own feces or something. Was a LONG time ago, maybe it made more sense at the time.

Heh. I actually own a copy of "The Inferno" which I started reading, but never got around to finishing it. It's...an interesting take on Hell, to say the least. Heads sewn on backwards, burining eternally in open coffins....great stuff.
