Title: DSi
Post by: WarxePB on February 18, 2009, 09:35:33 PM

Is anyone gonna get one? Personally, I'm still happy with my DS Lite, so I probably won't bother getting one until the price goes down.

Heard about this a while ago. Just a lot of useless features for jacked up prices. Not worth my time.

Will eventually have to get if I want to play good games.

Also, my DS's lower screen is slowly dying.

DS in general doesn't attract me. I'm more of a console type of guy. Big screen, controller in the hands.

My DS is dying, the shoulder buttons are dead, so I might at least get one after it's dead
The camera's kind of a turn on for me

I'm not interested in it. I'm happy with my big fat DS. I just bough a new battery for it anyway. The old one ran out of power after an hour or two.

No Port 2, no buy.

Also, it's regional locked, meaning no import games for you.

Or is that the case?

NOPE, PIRATES WIN AGAIN!

Don't... Have... DS... Might... Get?

If the CD-i was any indication though, I don't know if this will turn out that good!

No slot 2? Failure.
Title: Re: DSi

I'm not that interested in the DSi. I mean, a camera, bigger screens, and a flashcart drive, no GBA port, region locking...no thanks. A bigger screen a better system does not make. Besides, since when is Nintendo against importing games from Japan? I can't think of many other systems of theirs that were region locked.

Until I can't find any good GBA games to play (and I still haven't gotten to Advance Wars, Shining Force, both SRT: OG games, I haven't finished Yggdra Union, and I still want to replay Riviera: The Promised Land), I might consider it, and even then, the fact that I can't play Japanese games is a bit of a buzzkill. Sure, my only import game is J!US, but what if other cool Japanese games come around, like a new Mother or something?

Im going to buy one.

I have a DS, and a DS lite. And ill probably just buy it mostly because the missus and I are sort of collectors of these things.
I really cant see a couple of low bit digicams enhancing my gaming experience....even though the DS is my second most fun gaming platform

In Case anyone was wondering, I rate my games **** as follows

wii
DS
PS3
iPodtouch
360

Im not a fan of our 360.

Nah, Ive been meaning to get one, but there is honestly only one title i really want for it, and ive played its original a few times already.
One day Ill find one in a pawn shop for 50 bucks and  be done with it.

Also: It should be noted that the ipodtouch is no longer in my collection. Some asshat stole it from my workplace a couple of weeks ago, which was conincidentally only a couple of weeks after i bought it. The Apps were a load of fun though, i wont lie...I had some Squareenix titles, and some really fun little platformers. Ill buy a new one soon though. Id kind of like to try to develop an app.

I don't have enough time to play anything other than my DS right now, besides, there is risk involved while modding PSP's; I don't want to buy a system then brick it, I'm a low-risk pansy pirate when it comes to that. Not even modding my Wii had any real risk, and the second I modded that, I left it at my parents house. Wii's modded or not, really aren't very much fun. Despite having a PS3, I still play my PS2 a hell of a lot more.

DS and PS2 > Everything else.

I don't even know what the **** Skate 2 is, or why I should care, when I could be playing Mario and Luigi 3.

I've just recently bought a DS, my first time buying any kind of gaming system in a loooooong time. I wasn't sure how'd I'd like it but I've come to like it alot. The DSi seems like a waste of money to me. Any suggestions for good DS games? I've been playing FFTactics2, but I personally find it way too tedious at times.

Jesus Christ, can't you go five god damned minutes without bragging abut your piracy? We get it. Shut the **** up and give up some worthwhile input for once.

Dammit.

Pick up Mario Kart DS. It's fun (unless you go online, where snaking is king).

Recommending something is not piracy, and wait a minute...

I've been trying to play it on an emulator for my DS, but the graphics get all messed up. I don't want to look at eBay, as I know how much that's gonna cost.

That's what I'v been doing. But the souns is also sucky, and sound is a very important issue in a game for me.

They're talking about pirating on the DS, why don't you bitch about them? Oh wait, you just like to get on my *** about stupid ****. You probably didn't know this, because your a self-righteous "buy-everything support the shitty gaming industry that you all bitch so much about" sheep, but you can do more than pirate with a flash cart, the awesome drawing applications are almost worth it by itself. I'd say it's worthwhile advice, since practically everyone I've showed these things too have run off and bought one of their own. Why don't you get over yourself and go get one, you don't even have to pirate DS games with it, just throw on a Genesis emulator.

Non of my ROMs work, cause my flashcart has shitty RAM

So instead, I did a worthwhile thing, and got a **** load of homebrew

I could actually recommend some stuff later, not now, cause I haven't turned my DS on in awhile and it's dying

Apex, I've been thinking about getting a flash card for a while now. But I had bad experiences with my GBA flash card.

Archem, sounds good, is online play that bad? Kind of disappointing, any games with worth while online play?

And come on guys, calm down.
Title: Re: DSi

GBA ones were pretty experimental phase, and now most of the memory is relied on by Micro SD cards, so as long as you get yourself a good quality SD card, just about any flashcart will suffice. Acekard 2 is both cheap, and effective, order one of those for like $30, and an 8gb MicroSD for like $20, and you're in business.

Any suggestions for good DS games?

The World Ends With You/It's a Wonderful World - A more urban RPG with a pretty unique battle system. The music gets annoying after time, but it's fairly addictive.

Ninja Town - A fairly simple-to-play strategy game in which you set up little Ninja people to attack the enemies that walk by and keep them from getting into town.

Chrono Trigger DS - Because it's Chrono Trigger.

Mario Kart - Yes, snakers WILL beat you, but you don't see as many nowadays, maybe two after four hours of online play. Just be weary of AR hackers. I usually use AR myself to combat these. (I've retaliated against two of them and it's fun as hell to kick their asses.)

Mario Party DS - Not sure about this one. I for one love the Mario Party series, and the mini games are easily playable several times over and make full use of the microphone. It's good for long trips and such.

You're the only one who won't stop talking about it every time a topic shifts towards a DS or the mention of actually spending money on a game. I mean, I pirate plenty of things, but dammit, that's my business and I keep it to myself. I have better things to do than to walk into a conversation and say "Dudes, steal all your Call of Duties! They're so much better when you stick it to the man!". I'm serious.

Oh, and don't try to call me any of your emotionally charged words and phrases, because you're about as wrong as can be. No need to make yourself look stupid on top of looking like a prick.

Sorry Apex, but agreeing with Archem here. I be pirate too, yargh. I support my fair share of the movie and gaming industry but I still pirate loads besides that. But I keep it to myself. Why? Because it's illegal roflolcopter. It's like an irritating 12-year old who keeps telling you he drank beer. Shut it kid, we don't care. (Not directed at you but at that irritating kid).

I don't mind you pirating, I do mind it when you show off.

Thank you for admitting it. Now then, can we continue talking about the DSi and how fail it is (unless you don't have a DS already and don't mind not having a Slot 2 A.K.A. GBA slot)?

Ok, I think I should add that if they made a Zelda-themed DSi (like they did with the DS Lite), I would buy it.

I'm a real sucker for Zelda ****.

I don't mind. I mean, I wear this (http://www.zeldaelements.net/games_main/1/merchandise/wristband.jpg) every day of my god damned life (although mine has metal studs adorning it, for that extra "I'm so metal" flair).

This thread is getting dangerously close to smut....

Also, DSi is fail. Although i can play GBA games on emu's, i dont really care about any of that other garbage. Big Screens? Flash Port? A m***********g camera? Why the hell would I want a a camera? So I can see how much of a jackass i look like playing Mario Party?
