New and Improved!
This is the re-release of my second game, Pokemon Hunter 2: Hostility. I have given it a treatment much like the first game before it. I played through carefully and fixed numerous lacking areas. I did my best to correct:
- bad mapping
- awkward dialogue
- crappy custom graphics
- inefficient data
- inconsistencies
- other odds and ends
If you're new to this series, you may be better off playing Pokemon Hunter (http://www.rpgmaker.net/games/346/) first. Like I said, I already fixed that one up a lot before, and since this is a direct sequel, it would help your understanding of the plot greatly. But, you don't need to play it first, it's just a good idea. The two games are totally independent of each other and don't need a save file carried over or anything.
In addition to this patch-up, I added something new to the game: Classic Mode. This was the big secret I was keeping with the first game's overhaul release. It becomes available when the game is beaten with 100% completion, and it works like a New Game +, but with a twist.

Behold! The Classic Mode difference!
The system set and font change, and the lovely Ruby/Sapphire enemy sprites are replaced with their Red/Blue counterparts. We've come a long way from sprites like these, boy howdy! You can choose to keep your levels/stats/skillz when beginning anew in Classic Mode, or start a completely new game with the different look. Just a nice little bonus for those dedicated players.
The rest of the game is still largely what it was before, as the content itself hasn't changed much. It still sports all the stuff you can read about here (http://www.rpgmaker.net/games/347/). You may also want to look at this highly jaded review (http://www.rpgmaker.net/games/347/reviews/350/). It's not entirely fair to the game, but it does sum things up pretty well. The game is mediocre, but you can definitely do worse in the RM market. This review (http://www.rpgmaker.net/games/346/reviews/282/) is for the first game, but less jaded and more honest.
Here are a few screenshots, some changed, some not.

Now, about this series in general, a lot of people don't get what I mean when I say this isn't a Pokemon game, and those that do don't understand why I did things this way. Well, it's not a Pokemon game because it's nothing like the commercial Pokemon games. It's a traditional RPG that features Pokemon as the enemies. At this point, most people say: "Why'd you use Pokemon at all? If you take them out and replace them with regular monsters, you'll have a regular RPG!" What they don't seem to understand is that's the point. Pokemon, in all its pervasive obnoxiousness, has a lot of potential as a series. So much more can be done with it than what Nintendo's been dishing out, and I've always wondered what a normal RPG featuring Pokemon would be like. So, while others would rather be playing the standard RPG fare with dragons and goblins, this is what I wanted this series to be. At least it stands out from the crowd! Hard to mistake it for anything else (except a game of the same name that seems to have come out some time ago). Take this game as what you will. It's not awful, and if you can put aside the negative stigmas associated with Pokemon and RTP graphics, you might just enjoy playing it.

Sorry about the reroute, it's just easier if I have to update the download or something. You can find the rest of the series there, too.
I've put a lot of effort into this. It may not look like it, but give the game a chance and maybe you'll be surprised.
