The Original, as heard in MGS 1 (when discovered by an enemy)

Encounter 2008, as heard in MGO1, and the final battle of MGS 4.

Encounter, as heard on the Shadow Moses stage of Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Which is the best version?
Also, if you've played all titles in which the thre appeared, which was best suited for it's role?

My opinion: 2008 is my favorite. It just has a great theme to it. Sure, it's not as fast-paced as the other two, but it doesnt have to be.
Original next, just because it's a classic.
Didn't like the Brawl one at first, but it kinda grew on me...

2008 was perfect. They could not have chosen a better song for that fight.
Original, ditto. Really set the mood when you got caught.
Brawl one was pretty suited to Brawl, too. Although, personally, I would've preferred either of the others (2008 in particular)

Listened to the versions of two and three also, I still think the original one is the best. I don't know why, call it nostalgia, but it works best for me.

EDIT: That said, I haven't played MGS 4 nor the laster Super Smash Bros.

Well, of the three, I'd have to pick the SSBB mix as the best, followed closely behind by the original. I've not played MSG3 or MGS4 (PS2 PS3 non-ownership issues), so I'm not sure if that YouTube video did the track justice, but based on what I know, it feels a little weaker than the other two. I love the SSBB mix; it has a little bit of flair added to it that simply isn't present in the other versions.
