Title: No More RPG Maker
Post by: DedlellyDeth on March 22, 2009, 07:47:48 AM
I was working on my game, when I decided to move it out of the RPG2003 folder onto my desktop. While I was at it, I decided to rename it. Then, guess what. It ****ing went kablooey. All my work was reverted to an early save state God knows how. I kept trying to find the file, restart, and nothing. So I decided to uninstall Rm2k3, though it didn't remove the RPG2003 folder because I named it RM2K3, then reinstall. I did, but when I tried to create a new game, it gave me an error that the project couldn't be completed. I deleted the RM2K3 folder, which was duplicating the RPG2003 one, and it still didn't work. I might've reinstalled and tried it again, but I uninstalled it in the end. What should I do?

I don't really get the problem. But i know that my computer won't let me have my projects in the rpg2k3 folder. I only get an error for that.
Making them outside the folder works though.

I feel your pain. I worked on an rm2k game for a year solid. Anyway, you can't use rm2k on Vista... so it's completely useless in every way. To top that off,
I moved the game and tried opening it in rm2k3. All the stats are completely wrong. It's stupid! All I can say is that in the future, ALWAYS back up your games.
My current game, I back up every week onto an external hard-drive.

It might be the version of rm2k3. If you got a different version than the last one you had, it might have a few problems.

rm2k does work on vista if you mess around with it enough.

I don't know what that involves, though :(

I'm using Vista, but I downloaded the exact same file, RPG Maker 2003 v. 1.08, and it worked for a while. I tried playing a Peggle Deluxe crack by firewalling it, running as administrator, and running it in compatibility mode for Windows 98 like it told me, but it still didn't work. Does it differ with Rm2k3?
