Anyone have any to recommend?
My computers kind of "fun" lacking right now, as the only game installed on it that I play frequently is Arcanum
So yeah...
Anyone have any to recommend?
-
Torus Trooper. It's a fun shooter game.
http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~cs8k-cyu/windows/tt_e.html
Z shoots, X charges up a huge shot that can also destroy enemy bullets.
EDIT - Oh yeah, the game never ends, either. I made it to level 390 so far (easy mode), but once you get to about level 80, the levels don't get any more difficult.

Cave Story.
-
There's Fraxy, it's fun.

Torrents and a decent internet get you many "free" games.

That is very true
However, my computer, for lack of a better word, sucks...so most of the fun "free" games out there, that I'll actually want to play, will make it explode in a puff of blue smoke
Personally, I'd like to avoid that
I mean come on...it can't even play Guild Wars properly at a decent speed

That goes without saying, but it's implied that he's looking for legit free games.
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is (no longer) free, assuming you live in the US and have an account with FilePlanet (accounts are free, too, if you need one).
EDIT: It's possible that the download file is dead now, but I'm not sure, since it still seems to work fine for me, and I don't plan on re-downloading the game.
DOUBLE EDIT: Yup. Dead. Link removed.

Emerlat0rz. Duh. Your computer is probably powerful enough for SNES games and the like.

Dually noted.
That is why I have the entire SNES collection on my external hard drive ^_^
EDIT: Damn typos >_>
Also, FRAXY rocks...I'm just kind of bummed that they didn't put a default BGM in there :\
Cave Story is Cave Story, don't even know why that's not on the computer in the first place
And Torus Troopers was fairly kickass
-
I have a dozen MP3s so I'm NEVER short on BGMs.
-
Yeah...right now I'm playing with the Enemy Editor
That **** is fun ^^

One of the coolest features of Fraxy right there. ^_^

Unfortunately, I corrupted the files somehow, and have to re-extract

Duge this up from an older, similar topic:
Seiklus
(http://www.yoyogames.com/extras/image/name/san1/132/5132/large/yoyo_seik04.png?1179877321)
Seiklus is an open world adventure platformer, with simple, pleasing visuals, and amazing music.
IMO, the best gamemaker game ever made.
That being said, download it here. (http://www.yoyogames.com/games/launch/2118)
No seriously. Do it. Now.
And this:
Cube 2 (Sauerbraten)
At first glance, Sauerbraten is "just another indie FPS." It doesn't look special...
But here's where you're wrong. What other indie FPS features an edit mode, that allows you to dynamically create and edit maps in real time, in-game, cooperatively online? Yeah, none. That's what I thought.
Sauerbraten's engine is extremely easy to use, and it also sports some pretty impressive eye-candy, such as dynamic lighting, and water/glass reflection and refraction.
Oh, and also, there are guns. And you can shoot things/people.
See? There's something for everybody. So go pick up the latest version here (http://sourceforge.net/project/downloading.php?groupname=sauerbraten&filename=sauerbraten_2008_06_20_ctf_edition_win32_setup.exe&use_mirror=superb-east) for free. You won't regret it.
Note: Sauerbraten is god on a stick. It might be too intense for you. Just a warning.

I wanted to download Sauerbraten a long time ago, but never did it
Going to go do it tomorrow
-
You won't regret it
And as soon as I get my computer back, you, Dominicy, and I can all play online! :3
-
I tried to download it a while back. Actually, I did download it, but the damned thing refused to do anything other than black screen.
Every
Time.
I stopped trying after the 300th attempt (give or take a thousand. In fact, definitely take a thousand. -700 attempts is awesome).

I should join in too. But gmod is better.

Sauerbraten looks and sounds pretty cool! Real-time world building, sounds awesome. :D

S4 League, game I am currently playing like mad. Korean third person kind of anime styled shooting game.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhkEuZnf984&feature=related
This was taken from the korean open beta if I remember correctly, the game has been released in english in europe and is f2p ofc. Only bad thing IMO is that the soundtrack gets annoying after a while, and there is no american server so any american will have to play on the UK server.

Seizure Dome is fun for a little while. It's a bit insane.
If you get Half-life 2 or any other Source engine game, the number of free mods is insane. There's some incredible free mods out there
like Teddy Wars and Eternal Silence.
Warsow is a great cell-shaded, free-running FPS.
Shadowflare - Like Baldur's Gate!
Frets On Fire - Free Guitar Hero replica.
Knytt Stories is absolutely amazing. Get it!
Mugen Fighter Maker is great for fighting games.
Ac!dbomb is a fantastic puzzle game that had me addicted for hours.
Abuse and Hurrican are great side-scrolling platformer shooters.
Well Of Souls is a freeware open-source RPG where you can join servers and work together. Had a lot of fun on that.
There's various game websites like caiman and indiegames with lists of Freeware games.
Have fun!!
EDIT: Oh my! How did I forget IJI?! It's absolutely amazing!
-
I Want To Be The Guy is great if you're suicidal.
Combat Arms is a great first person shooter if you can deal with hackers.
-
There's Fraxy, it's fun.
http://mokeron.hp.infoseek.co.jp/zg/fraxy_main.html (http://mokeron.hp.infoseek.co.jp/zg/fraxy_main.html)
Aye. And for those who are interested or something here's some Bos (http://fraxycompendium.pbwiki.com/Bluhman)ses. (http://fraxy.kafuka.org/wiki/User:Bluhman)
-
Damn. He already got to posting Sauerbraten before I could D:

Damn...I'm going to have to go download some of those, after I'm done messing around with my own
