Hello fellas and fellettes,
Obviously long time no see (to those that remember me) and nice to meet you to all that I don't know.
Just a quick question: One of the current jobs I'm applying for is in the Department of Defence. Now, going on what I've read and when I spoke to some people about the job, no one indicated that I would need to be fit. The job application process does contain a health check. Do you think I'd need to improve my fitness (like cardiovascular) before I have my health check?

You might want to do that, to be on the safe side. Heck, even if you change your mind and decide not to join the Dept. of Defense, you should do it. It's never a bad idea nor a waste of time to take care of yourself...

That's usually not what a health check is. They're mostly looking for drugs and stuff, but also any strange diseases or other things that could become a major problem in the near future.
I also echo everyone else here in saying that physical health is one of the best things you can spend your time on. I'm just a computer nerd engineer, but I hit the gym when I have time.
