What a great game, anyone actually beat it?
-
What is it?
-
Banjo-Tooie is a platform and action-adventure hybrid video game developed by Rare and published by Nintendo in 2000 for the Nintendo 64 as a part of the Banjo-Kazooie series. The game is the successor to Banjo-Kazooie and was one of the most anticipated sequels for the Nintendo 64.
The game's story takes place two years after Banjo-Kazooie. The antagonist, Gruntilda Winkybunion and her sisters, Mingella and Blobbelda, are planning to restore Gruntilda's body to its original form. Banjo and Kazooie must stop them before it is too late.
-
I remember those. Never got around to play too much of either, though, because I never owned a 64.
-
:O
You MUST play this game again, its like awesomeness in a bear and bird.
plus you could just use an emulator
-
I loved those games. Sure, they were essentially mimicking Mario 64, but who doesn't want more of that?!!

How about no?
-
They released on XBLA.
Cost me $30 for the both of 'em. Worth it.
-
How about no?
How about I'll force you to?
-
Oh right. I was confused by that K&T thingy. Thought it was something else.
But yeah, I've beaten both those games. Pretty much 100% I think. I can't remember. Borrowed it from a friend many years back when they were released.
No more of them though. The company no longer works for Nintendo.
-
They need to make another Battletoads.
-
and that is...?
-
and that is...?
W T F!? YOU DON'T KNOW BATTLETOADS!? Where have you been? UNDER A ROCK!? It's one of Rare's BIG classics dammit!

Sheesh! And you call yourself a gamer... :\

Perhaps he has blocked the memory out, it being the most frustrating game ever made.
-
Battletoads Double Dragon wasn't so bad, Battletoads: Battlemaniacs was HARD as heck. The arcade release was more beat-em-up and was quite bloody.
-

Uh, a sequel came out a few weeks ago on Xbox 360....

Not worth calling that **** a sequel.

I can't get past the new character designs.

After:

I'm so glad they gave Kazooie that sexy "come-hither" gaze or I would have never known it was a she. And that would be a tragedy.

this is why drugs are illegal.

...Kazooie's a she?
-
...Kazooie's a she?
Yeah.
-
...Kazooie's a she?
She lays eggs after all. And is refered to as she and her throughout the game.
-
I thought all of those games sucked personally i hated them my opinion
-
She lays eggs after all.
So does Yoshi, so I can see how people get confused.
-
And to throw egglaying confusion in the mix, so does Birdo.
Archem, how are the controls for Banjo Kazooie and Tooie on live? I might actually consider getting them if they play well enough.
The original was fantastic and the music was great (a lot of it a variation of teddy bear picnic, which is cute the way they did it) but I never got a chance to play the sequel.
I was quite disappointed when I heard Banjo N&B decided to take from the original formular and replace with MAEK CARZ.
They didn't want to rehash, sure, but when you rehash Banjo Kazooie with new graphics and stuff, how could you possibly go wrong?
-
So does Yoshi, so I can see how people get confused.
Well, Yoshi is a dinosaur... And.... Well.
Erhm. Lastminutelogic.
Yoshi eats people and crap them out as eggs. He doesn't actually make mini yoshis appear from there unless it's a female yoshi. I think yoshi's reproduction is more like in Alien with those long tongues and all.
-
There's certainly no rhyme or reason to it, but if a baby doesn't eventually come out of it, it's not an egg. And "Yoshi's Island" calls them eggs. I can't remember if any other game involves Yoshi laying eggs though.
And...is Birdo male?
-
And...is Birdo male?
Transvestite in that case.
But s/he sure got a big round mouth(or is it the butt, there keeps coming eggs out of it) though.
-
Birdo was male in Super Mario Brothers 2.
Nintendo have long since and on many occasions said that OH NO WAIT BIRDO WAS A GIRL ALL ALONG even calling her or a seperate, unique Birdo who looks exactly the same as all the other Birdos "Catherine" on a few occasions.
BUT IF YOU BELIEVE NINTENDO'S LIES SO HELP YOU GOD--
The only case of Yoshi eggs bearing children that I can remember is at the end of Super Mario World.
Though you never find out who laid those eggs.
-
You know how when Yoshi's eggs break in Yoshi islan, there's nothing inside? You know, not the parts of an egg which actually make it possible to bear children? Yeah.
-
In Yoshi's Island, didn't some eggs pop open with stars or something inside?
-
Me and my girlfriend beat kaooie last year and now we're working through tooie right now. We just unlocked that industrial level.
-
Archem, how are the controls for Banjo Kazooie and Tooie on live? I might actually consider getting them if they play well enough.
Great. The controls work about as well as they should (tight movements, but not stiff, all the buttons respond great, and there's a minimum of the "right joystick = C buttons" nonsense that Wii's VC ports do), and they've gone and made the right stick control the camera. Absolutely fantastic, although some elements show their age.
Oh, and the FPS sections of Tooie are much more fun than I remember, especially since they have modernized controls added (in other words, they're optional if you loved the old style). Worth the money (although I wish they would have added online multiplayer for Tooie).
-
Well I'm sold.
Just as soon as I find the skull on Orbital...
-
I beat the first one. God I love Rareware games music. the composition is what got me hooked to Doney kong 64, Banjo & kazzoie, and Perfect dark. Conkers BFD was epic win too. :3
-
Oh God, CBFD is, to this day, my favorite N64 game. It's even on my top 5 games of all time. I've lost so many hours to that gem.
If they put it on XBLA with reworked MP controls and online support, I'd give them any number of monies they demand for it (**** the Xbox remake).

1: I fail to understand XBLA. ;__;'' and 2: The Xbox remake was good, until I played the multiplayer mode, then I died a little on the inside (>;_;)>
'
-
XBLA = Xbox Live Arcade. And the Xbox remake was fine, except they axed the old multiplayer in favor of the new one (which is a fine mode of play, but killing off all the old ones is a sin against... Well, everything), and they censored the single player dialogue more than the N64 version (and this was at the point where dialogue censorship in an M rated game was finally nonexistent). The bottom line: It felt like they had gone in reverse. Barring graphics, controls, online, and some elements of the single player dialogue, it would seem obvious that the N64 version was a superior remake of the Xbox version.

I love where this thread is going.

You stole the words from my mind.

(>^w^<) I'm still wishing for a new/remake of Donkey Kong 64. All the DK's after that one phailed.
-
There were DK's after that one?!
-

Can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, so I'll answer anyways
*aherm*
Unfortunately, yes there was.
-
Indeed, and yes, they sucked... >_<;;
I used to play DK games a lot, and when I had a friend around online, that was one game series we'd co-op on. XD
