Okay. So I was working on the chaingame today when I chose "Play all" in my music folder.
2 hours later I get these impulses to play FFXII and FFX-2.
I hate both those games like scurvy so why do I have this tingling feeling in my hands just longing to play them?
I shouldn't get that at all. I just threw them away into the drawer after completing them because I decided that they weren't worth playing through again.
Anyone else gets these? Nostalgic feelings over things you don't even like.
-
Because 12 was actually pretty awesome?
-
I didn't actually play XII, but occasionally I walked in while my brother was playing it. I would watch a few minutes of yet another cutscene of aristocratic yappin' and finally wonder aloud, "Does this ever pick up?"

It never did.

It was a good Idea. I would've liked it if It didn't have the MMO styled combat, and picked up a Crystal Chronicles style. But the game itself isin't as bad as people portray it as.

It is.
Heroes of mana to the DS offered more story and character development than FFXII.

With 12, I really appreciate the game and see it as a masterpiece that I think is boring as hell. Hard
to explain.
Graphics: 10/10
Music: 10/10
Originality: 10/10
Atmosphere: 10/10
Gameplay: 0/10
That's how I see it!
EDIT: I've also had that exact feeling with FFXII. I whapped it out and played it for like 45 minutes straight... then binned it...
Then spat on it...
Then burned it...
EDIT: Then got it out and tried it again just incase it got better...

Matter of opinion.

Isn't that the exact definition of nostalgia?

Majora's Mask.
Ordered a gold copy over ebay only to remind myself of how much I utterly despised the Great Bay temple.

I can't think of one nostalgic feeling I've had for something I DIDN'T like.

Okay... Pokemon... Then I junked it to play more Shin Megami Tensei.

Sometimes I get the urge to play "Jurassic Park: The Chaos Continues" for the SNES again, which is borderline masochism if you know how hard that game is. I just have fond memories of my brother and I playing co-op and creeping along until a velociraptor appears and tears across the screen (and our faces) while we feebly waste our ammo, screaming all the way.
Oh, I still have the opening cutscene memorized after 12 years. IN-GEN MUST BE ELIMINATED.

Sort of agree: You appreciate it on subsequent playthroughs though... Kind of like the Water Temple in OoT.
Off topic, I just opened a well-sealed bag of cereal I bought almost a year ago, AND THE **** IS STILL GOOD. <3 Cocoa Crispies. (Dyno-Bites, whatever.)
