Title: Strange Experiences
Post by: DedlellyDeth on May 11, 2009, 03:27:29 AM
Has anyone had a psychedelic experience outside of drug use? These happen to me a lot. Must be something wrong with my brain. I occasionally feel like I am a giant or that I'm playing a very realistic video game. I'm very paranoid and often misinterpret objects as more menacing than they are. I can change my perception of figures at will, for example with changing the direction of a cube's outline in such diagrams, and easily demarcate paths in my mind when playing Chess or looking at tiles. Sometimes I get impulses, but have to remind myself that this is real life, and I occasionally try to do superhuman things. I can project my mind's eye onto real 3D areas like my room, with realistic physical interactions. Am I crazy? (My IQ is 155 BTW and I have abnormally high brain activity according to an EEG. I "focus too much" apparently?)

Ooh boy...I hallucinate a lot
I constantly hear little things, mostly whispers and random noises
When I lay down I start having weird waking dreams, mostly due to boredom
A lot of other things too, but those I don't really want to talk about, as they even freak me out

I daydream a good deal. Literally. Most of my dreaming in general is lucid, and I can well see that what I am dreaming at night is a way for my brain to remember things. I really love dreaming, doing things I can't do in real life. Too many of my dreams are scary, and often involve escaping from something for a reason I don't know. I've never had the typical falling, etc. dreams. Sometimes when I'm falling asleep I hear voices.

Wait, this counts as a hallucination? I thought it was just deeper thinking!

My psychiatrist should prob'ly hear about this...

It's funny that YOU all ask this; seeing that you are all figments of my imagination.

That's what you seem to want to believe. Sure, I'll go with it.

Your mom says "hi". She wants to know if you're coming out of that comma[sic] any time soon.

Sometimes, while I'm in bed and about to go to sleep, I suddenly feel like I've been dropped right into my bed...even though I'm just lying down...

I sometimes have Hypnagogic hallucinations; it's when you are on the verge of falling asleep, but you remain in that awkward transition period, not quite asleep, yet not quite awake. The mind pretty much wonders and dwells (On events that happened that night, if anything significant for me.) to the point where it realizes that it's not asleep and wakes itself up. This goes on for about 5 hours, and you would THINK it's cool to have weird dream like hallucinations, but it's more annoying, as you don't actually get any credible sleep.

This happens all the time.

I have played Earthbound, if that's what you're asking.

I get that feeling alot. it's your sugar. If your blood sugar is too high or you stay up constantly you can have little attactks like this. Somtimes it'll result in parylisis. Also I can make 3D objects apear in real life as well. I can even, when readin alot, make entire worlds apear to the point I can't hear what other pepole are saying because it feels like a movie.

I get weird dreams, hear things, space out, become unresponsive, and get weird feelings. I was walking once, my friend and I saw a house, came back 10 minutes later, it was gone. Like it vanished. That's why I don't get involved with haunted houses.

Oh? I happen to listen to 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds', myself. Quite.

When I listen to music, I can see various scenes of whatever I'm working on at that time in front of my eyes, as though it were a real anime or game. If that counts.

I'm not talking about drugs. Anyone can feel this way with drugs.

I like composing my own imaginary music videos.

I'm not kidding, a have lots of pig-based hallucinations.

When I was about 10 I scrunched up some paper to throw away and looked at it
and it was a miniature pig's head which winked at me.

Quite a lot of times I'll do a second take because I think I've seen a pig near me.

It's freaky! Why!?

LIKE THIS?!!

Actually now that you mention it, the same exact thing happened to me. Not that often, though. It's probably worse now because of the swine flu, your piggalucinations.

Amen to that.

I especially like the one I made for Ozzy's "Fire In The Sky". ZKX makes a cameo in it.

I even mentally added those music clip popup trivia buckleyboxes.

Oh...so that's not uncommon?

Probably not. I do it every time a song plays.

Every time I hear 'I want to break free', I imagine my own little music video, starring a bunch of cross-dressing cosplayers, Man-Faye, and Hard Gay, parading through San Fransisco, and stopping right in front of City Hall. Oh, and there's a girl dressed as a guy in there, too.

The only 'hallucination' I've ever had was I mistook a pile of clothing on the floor that looked like Leslie Nielsen.  I wasn't frightened or anything, mainly because that man is awesome and I was honored he would grace me with his presence, even if it was just my imagination.
