Title: I have a question?
Post by: tmerrill420 on May 29, 2009, 01:33:51 AM
Is there any way i could make the fights in rpgmaker like an actual fighting game by chance? I was wondering but it sounded very unlikely...

yeah, but it would use alot of pictures depending on what kind of fighting game.

and alot of coding.

You don't. End of story.

Verbose: If you are modifying the system this much, it loses entirely the purpose of RPG Maker and you should code it independently.

My thought exactly.

There are makers out there made for fighting games and there are some engines out there as well like Mugen.
You might have a better chance succeeding with RPGMXP though if you want this. But making a system like this and adding skills would require you to know A LOT as in A LOT about coding if you want to add another skill and such.

As said above, RPGMXP is widely ranged in possibilities. You have the scripting feature which makes it all 10000% more efficient. But still rpg 2003 is my favourite.

On the other hand if you are completely sure that's what you want to do and rpg makers dont suit your needs we have:

GameMaker. Flexible engine that probably suits you better then rpg maker.

or languages to begin scratching your own games such as:

Python
C++
SDL
Java

But that's a whole other league. If you need help in the above languages though I can be of use to you.

They were probably talking about Mugen. You might want to try out Fighter Maker as well.

I bet you can just search the name and add a "download" at the end.
You should find one or two sites.
