...is on my mp3 player. And is what I am listening to right now. I wish I could've seen it live...
=/
My favorite songs are "You and Me and Pokémon', "Pikachu, I choose you!", "I've Got a Secret", and the Finale.
Anyone else heard it?
-
Nope.
I secretly hope Nintendo makes a Pokemon MMO though...

That could work
But it would also destroy the pokémon feeling. Like, seeing pokémons running around in the wild, fighting them and seeing other people around, grouping up ect.
What they could do is to create some kind of online pokémon game where you plug in your gameboy with the game and is able to walk around and chatting with other players in a virtual pokémon tavern or something.
That's probably what Pokémon lacks most of all. Real online experience.
-
I still think an actual MMO is needed. You could have the random battles and a few NPC trainers, but you'd also be able to duel the other players
-
I've always thought a full on 3d pokemon would be interesting
Also, the first thought I had with the topic was PokeMon on Ice, or something similar
That would be weird
-
I vote yes on a Pokémon MMORPG.
-

-
MMO aint happening tho. They've said they would never do it because it ruins the experience of sharing and trading o.O as stupid as that sounds.
-
...how?
-
I think Nintendo likes having the physical interaction
-
^ yeah they're too into that right now. And so are about sony and M$
-
M$
I read that as MicroCash, which is pitifully ironic
Anyways, for constructive-ness...as I've already said, I've been thinking about a full 3d console pokemon
Not too sure how the encounters would work, but it'd be fun
EDIT: By 3d, I also meant 3d person, instead of that whole overworld shtuff

On Platinum you can go on WiFi and chat in the lobby, I think.
-
If they've got the same chatting system as in Pearl and Diamond, then I wouldn't really call it chatting
-
that's local wifi. I mean going into the internets and chat.
-
Nintendo has gone down the drain the last years. All I see from them is trying too hard with that motion dectection and recycling old hits like Mario, Pokémon, Zelda and Metroid. Now I don't bash those games, but they're hardly coming with new stuff.
-
MMO yes, MMORPG suicide.
-

Not to be a grammar Nazi, but that typofied version of "detection" is hilarious. More on topic, I don't care if Nintendo reuses the same franchises forever as long as they continue to make them good. Mario can jump and **** pretty cool Goombas? You bet. Pokémon doesn't repeat Generation III? I choose you! Our Zelda is in another castle? 1-Up. Metroid finds more energy tanks? Hells yeah.
Pit's balls drop, and Kid Icarus Wii has waggle arrows, brown + gray, crawling in my skin, and emover?
D:
-
I am betting retro studios is either working on a new star fox or a new kid icarus
-
Actually, they seem to be working on the Metroid Prime Trilogy bundle.
Which, if you haven't heard, is a re-release of the three titles (sorry, Hunters is more of a spin-off than a part of the trilogy) on one disc, and the to GameCube titles have reworked controls (they play like Corruption now).
So yeah. They're in the game of porting. And word on the streets is they're being bought by Micro$oft soon. I am saddened.
-

You hook your ds up to your router's connection and can batlle, talk, and all that **** online.
-
But it's not the same as only being online.
-
Technically there is already a MMO of pokemon. Pokemon Crater. Google it. You'll find it.
-
And here I clicked this hoping to read about an epic live action movie where they painted a rat yellow and glued red construction paper to a fox.

Now that is a movie I would watch.
-
I second that. But Why the paper on the fox?

Well, there's Pikmin, which is becoming like the new franchise.
But I wish they'd just give EBA more games.
I second that. But Why the paper on the fox?
The only thing I can think of is Vulpix.
-
Another problem, although this one only concerns you, is that you can't speak/understand English, only write/read it.
Oh yeah, and there's also that part about finding animals to disguise as Pokémons.
-

We could light a horse on fire and run after it screaming "Go Ponyta!"
-
Tried it. Doesn't work.
Great if you're short on dinner ideas, though.

There.
-
To be completely honest, that has to be one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen.
-
Much better to listen to than watch.
-
I would imagine.
-
GIANT PIKACHU ATTACKS
-
...that made me visibly cringe...
-
I know what you mean. I can't get my face to go back to normal!
-
Hey, so Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver are coming out. I haven't bought a pokemon game since the original G/S/C and I think I'll get them before then, because even at 22, I'm loving Pokemon again for some reason.
-
Yeah, I know what you mean. I skipped the GBA generation (didn't really have a GBA for very long... Long story), but I've played every other generation (even the rebirth of Gen. I), so I'm really looking forward to this. Gold was my favorite one, by far.
Since I missed a generation, though, I'm finding Pearl to be quite difficult. Still haven't done everything because of how ridiculously underleveled I am.
-
I'm playing Sapphire right now, and I'm actually having a hard time. I didn't buy it, in fact, I found it in a laundromat I worked at, in a lint filter! But I decided to play it, and it's great, but it's HARD!
I'm gonna get Ruby/Emerald so I can get all of the pokemon, and then Pearl/Diamond/Platinum, and Fire Red/ Leaf Green.
I'm still waiting on Nintendo to put out a massive Pokemon game with Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, P/D/P's world and the orange Islands that they put in the show waaaayyy back before G/S came out and never referenced in the game.
Imagine that, 48 gyms, 4/5 elite fours, and when you've defeated all the elite fours, they could have like... the ULTIMATE elite 4, the champs from the previous game, Red, Gold, Ruby and Diamond's heroes.
That's just my dream. There's sooo much they could do if they did something like that. You could choose what nation to start in, and you choose from that nation's starters (so if you choose Kanto, you start with Charmander, Squirtle or Bulbasaur, etc)
-
Yeah, we've all been dreaming of that for years.
But it'll never fit on a portable game cart...
-
True, maybe Wii or something? Just keep the graphics simple.
-
But the games lose their charm a bit when you take away the portable aspect of it. Plus, trading is made a bit more cumbersome. Really, a console Pokémon game that's not mini-games/stadiums/etc. loses a lot of what makes the games fun.
...Not that it wouldn't be fun. It would just be a bit more difficult to pull off. Perhaps one that focused less on capturing and more on a traditional RPG party system?
No, that's boring.
-
They could make a seperate game for each continent, with a carry over effect.
Meaning, say I buy Pokemon in Kanto, I'd start with Charmander, and once I've beated the elite four, I can buy Johto and continue from there.
Of course the major problem is that your pokemon would be extremely overpowered. But you'd send your character and all pokemon and stats into Johto.
But if I buy Johto first I could start with Totodile and play the Johto world, beat the elite four and then buy Kanto (or hoenn, or w/e)
-
Or, perhaps, something else. Perhaps your Pokédex carries over, your Pokémon carry over in their earliest attained form (with stat boosts and EXP bonuses, possibly special items), and have the available Pokémon evenly divided between the areas. That way, you'll only get a small amount to discover per game, but almost all of the existing Pokémon (promotional Pokémon obviously exempt) will be available if you have all the titles. Something to muse on. Perhaps, instead, there are new rules on gym battles. Level caps, move restrictions, etc. to keep things interesting. That could do away with the fear of being over-leveled.
It could work similarly to the GBC Zelda games, where after you beat the game, you receive a code (or something similar) that transfers your stats over into the next game, and unlocks secrets not normally available (like speech options, character events, Pokémon encounters, areas, items, the works). This is starting to sound really cool. Someone get on the phone with Nintendo and start pitching this idea!
-
Heh, I'm sure Nintendo has heard the idea, and I'm sure they've thought about it.
I think perhaps that a level cap would be a great idea. I don't like having to re-train your pokemon from an early form though. I think the trouble would be that since the first gym leader is usually lvl 14-18ish you'd have to have it.
Of course in Pokemon R/B/Y/G/S/C you couldn't have too even of a party for the first gym. You'd usually have your starter and a bunch of normal pokemon, but in Sapphire I had Torchic (Fire) Lotad (Water/Grass) Poochyena (Dark) Ralts (psychic) and a couple normals for the first gym.
I just WISH they would do it, it'd be EPIC to play as one trainer. Either that, or same thing, only full online capability, where you can battle anyone in the world... they NEEED that.
Even if they do like the battle tower, but you fight other players, that'd be awesome.
-
I think they wrangled me into getting Heart Gold/Soul Silver despite the fact that I don't really like the generation II Pokemon designs. Because you can have any Pokemon follow you around! I don't even know why that's so appealing, it just is.
Although I still don't like the new female PC.
-
Female PC? Does in menstruate?
-

Wait... what?!?!? G/S/C REMAKES?!?!?!
-
Someone didn't read the thread.
-
Wait... what?!?!? G/S/C REMAKES?!?!?!
Oh, you haven't heard about Heart Gold and Soul Silver?
-
No. When did this happen?
-
It's actually kind of old news now. Yeah, they're remaking Gold and Silver on the DS. It appears to be as 3D as the other DS titles, it seems to have fancy-schmancy weather effects, and oh yeah, YOU CAN HAVE ANY POKÉMON FOLLOW BEHIND YOU. ANY OF THEM. ALL 400WHATEVER OF THEM.
Odd that I find this to be the best new feature...
-
I liked that feature in Yellow. =/
-
Yeah, but it was only for the starter Pikachu.
Hated the little bastard...
-
I always shoved it into my box
-
WHOA! WHOA! WHOA!
Whoa! Too much information!
Also, I wasn't aware that you had one of them...
-
I always thought Fruckert was a guy too. Especially considering his/her name. But I guess Cody goes both ways
Pulling an archem to say just kidding.
-
I also wonder how its like to have Wailord following you.
Snorlax. It would be fun if they made it realistic and it was always sleeping, so one would have to push/pull it all over the place somehow.
-

^ Fun Idea
-
Is is only one or your whole party (6) following you? (My guess is only one though)
Also, what if you have a fish Pokémon? They'll just jump around to follow you?
If you get a Diglett/Dugtrio following you, will it be able to enter houses? Because that would kinda destroy floors. And if you get to a second floor, will people from the first be able to see its full body?
And what about large Pokémons (such as Dragonite)?
-
.... I just discussed this idea with Lucas literally two-three days ago. :/
WEWT! Porygon ahoy!
-
I can't wait to have Charizard following me around.
Dammit. I hate you Nintendo... now I have to go buy Ruby and Fire Red/Leaf Green and Pearl/Diamond/Platinum and get a DS...
Bitches.
-
They're good. They're really good. They know all the tricks to printing money.
-
Well, I've got R/B/Y and G/S/C and I like to have a full Pokedex. My R/B/Y has 151 and my G/S/C has 251 (I cheated to get Mew/Celebi)
-
Donno about pearl/diamond. I wont buy them when I have a DS.
Why not? I find them to be pretty awesome.
-
NO LUCAS YOU MUST PLAY THE MINING MINIGAME!!
-
Well, pay for them and I will. :P
Cheap-asses always miss out on the best of things.
Then again, who am I to talk? My little brother bought Diamond and Pearl, and he let me have Pearl.
-
By the way Lucas, *coughM3Real/R4cough*
-
These are all terrible arguments. You should all click the ad below for the Free Online Pokemon MMORPG!
...Should that be the ad you're seeing.
-
Nope.
I'm getting *reads*
Trickster R
Seriously
Big...red...R
-
I got that Pokemon MMO, I clicked on it once, out of curiousity... it's a virus.
-
This is only a new reason why you all should click it.
-
Does no one here believe in Adblock or something? Also, I endorse Ed here.
-
Does no one here believe in Adblock or something?
Half the fun of the internet comes from the ads, though. I'm paying for it, I might as well get all of it.
-
Pokemon is such an awesome game that its worth having the original one. (:
Use a flashcart until you get a job or something.
-
Aint a flashcart more expensive than a single game?
Obviously, but if you're just gonna play one game on the DS, don't bother.
It just comforts me knowing that once Gold and Silver come out, I'll have them there and then, and not a single penny spent.
-
Aint a flashcart more expensive than a single game? If not, I ll buy it.
Because once I have the GS remakes, thats all I am gonna use my DS (that I dont even have yet) for during a few months.
They cost a bit more than a DS game, depending on the make of flashcart you get. Still, flashcart=having access to EVERY DS game.
-
I like to actually own the ****. Besides, what kind of shitty pirate are you if you have to spend money to make NOTHING?
-
The man has a point.
