Title: ...wow...
Post by: fruckert on June 19, 2009, 02:23:44 AM
Recently, PETA has started to crack down on Pikes Place in Seattle over the fish market people throwing dead fish.
No, I am not kidding (http://tdn.com/articles/2009/06/10/breaking_news/doc4a2ed1bb949c5977676830.txt)
*sigh*...this is seriously one of the more stupid things I've heard of recently.
Even worse: They're planning on protesting about it (http://tdn.com/articles/2009/06/18/breaking_news/doc4a3a5dd0b653c868859559.txt).

What do you guys think about this recent display?

Oh, and for those of you who don't know, that's mainly what Pikes Place is known for...besides the fish market of course...

We all know that PETA are idiots. They want to rule our lives. They want as much power as they can get through acting as an "official" group. Really they should be rooted out as the terrorists as they are.

That's not as bad as them getting upset at Obama for KILLING A FLY!

I have yet to hear the story on that one.

Oh, I love PETA! To stop people from killing animals... let's kill animals ourselves, and then throw their blood at people!
They are also angry with the US President for swatting a fly, or something...

I think PETA should be classified as a terrorist organization, and "taken care of". In that second link, they said they would follow these people back to their hometowns, bother them, and make it known what they did... Honestly, who will care that the local vet tossed and caught some fish?

Ridiculous.

I love that there is a Peta, but no People for the ethical treatment of PEOPLE. I mean, kids get abused, women get raped, fathers aren't allowed to see their kids because they're men. But animals are more important...

The fly's family was on the Colbert Report. Fantastic stuff on that program.

...It's fake blood. You knew that, right?

I was going to link to some videos, but CBS had them removed from YouTube. Such bullshit.

Those PETA-philes all need to quit with the 'animal loving'.

Not to mention they advertise their cause with blatant pornography.

In case you were wondering, it's called the "state of the union undress"

Put it on mute, you won't notice the difference.

PETA are such a funny group, trying to force us into becoming vegetarian. What? Are they going to force lions and other carnivore animals to be vegetarian too? O_o At one time they may have made some sense, but today they have greatly deteriorated into a group of blackmailing, overly demanding, inhumanly cruel, and very close minded. Basically, they look for any chance to assert power over the common man as a sense of superiority.

In other words, they want us ruled by animals, AND them.

I can think of 2 shows that I wish I could find clips of.

In Sons of Butcher (a canadian cartoon) Season 2, Episode 8, Riding the Rocket, one of the Characters sol becomes a vegetarian, and he sings a song. It basically says that 'Vegetarians think they're smarter than god'

And anyone seen the episode of Futurama with the vegetarian lion?

You don't even need to mute it, it's obvious.

Ah how we love PETA.

Oldie but goodie. (http://www.peta.org/MC/NewsItem.asp?id=1211)

Today, PETA fired off a letter to the members of the band Judas Priest, urging them to shed their skins - leather skins, that is. Not only do the band's members regularly perform dressed head-to-toe in leather garb, they have also promoted the symbol of cruelty via their 1978 hit album Hell Bent for Leather, which PETA wants them to change to Hell Bent for Pleather.

Hilarious. I'm almost certain that half the members are just kidding, while the other half haven't realized that it's a joke. There's really no way they can be serious.

I have to agree. Most of this seems like one big comical act. If it is serious, then it gets even more hilarious.

PETA, huh.

Weren't them the ones who kept trying to release zoo animals in habitats they don't belong, so they die of starvation and sweet freedom?

Clearly, it's because the animals aren't Americans. They can't handle the sweet, sweet taste of freedom. Much like a select group of terrorists out there.
