The Carrion Wasteland
(http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/8003/iconl.png) (http://img443.imageshack.us/i/iconl.png/)
This game is a zombie-survival based RPG with dark themes. It is not intended for children, and should only be played
by young adults. (I'd say 18 or older, but I'm 17 and I've been working on mature stuff since I was 14 lol).
Taking place in the late 1970s, the world has been ravaged by the living dead. At this point in time, it really is unknown
what happened during the initial outbreak, and few live to tell tales of the event. Settlements have sprung up out of
nothing, and people are holding on to life. The shuffling undead stalk night and day, and are rarely more than a wall
or two away. Luckily, the creatures themselves have very little brain capacity, and there have been little to no
incidents reported as of late.

Characters
(Image soon)
- Character Named by Player -
The Player Character is a young, wise man hardened by wasteland life.

- The Living Dead -
Although there are many theories on how they came into existence, the real reason has been lost to
time. It is suggested that the dead of the Second World War began to rise just months after the war
had been put to an end, but the reliability of the story isn't credible. They stalk the lands, desperately
seeking the flesh of the living, which satisfies there painful hunger for a short while, if not only a
moment. There all differ - slow ones, fast ones, smart ones and stupid ones, but they all strive for one
thing - to be full.

- Genetech -
Not exactly a character, but a massive company which did everything, from automobiles to politics.
They were the nation's forerunner in technology, supplying the United States Military up until the
outbreak. The status of the company is unknown, but compared to the casualty rate during the
outbreak, it is believed that most employees are deceased. Genetech and it's technology as
well as it's remains will play a pivotal part in the storyline.

- United States Disaster Relief -
The United States Disaster Relief, or USDR, were a government funded organization through NATO and the United Nations.
Originally focused on aiding foreign countries in the aftermath of disasters of minor combat situations, the USDR was called
to the homefront as the zombies started to rise. Poorly equipped, and understaffed as well, the USDR didn't aid the situation
to it's full capability. Today, USDR remnants are spread thinly around the wastes.

- Specialized Combat Force -
More commonly known as the SCF, they were dispatched after the US government realized that the USDR were not sufficient
to help in the situation. The SCF was created using Navy Seals and recognized, veteran Infantry and sending them to highly
dangerous areas. This was cause for great outrage, and even more so when the SCF experienced heavy losses in their original
mission. Very few SCF exist today, and the few survivors are assumed to be in hiding, angry at their government.
Locations
Ironfield
Once a busy, industrial township, Ironfield has grown quiet and is slowly rusting out of existence. Built to house much of
the United States' resource production during the Second World War, the town contains scars of environmental abuse.
The town, since the outbreak, has fallen into disarray and many buildings stand derelict. Many threaten to tumble over
at a moment's notice.
GAME FEATURES
- Moving objects to create barricades to keep zombies away from you.
- Characters can receive bleeding wounds, which kill them over time.
- The player can change their appearance at will.

So it's another... zombie survival game thing?
-
Yeah, but this time I can actually commit to it.
-
(Sorry for double post)
If there's been a ton since I've been gone, sorry. I wasn't really able to see what has happened in the community for
the past year or two.
-
I made one not too long ago. Its in my sig.
-
Cool. I'll have to try and find the time to play it. It looks really neat man.
NEW SCREENSHOTS - Look at bottom of my original post, click on spoiler buttons for screenshots.
-
Looks good, keep it up. I like customization I hope you can keep up with some of your ideas.
-
Thanks, I hope so too. I'm thinking about making a purchasable item which you simply use to create a save point, and it stays on the map for you to use at any time. It will help with base creation.
-
I put alot of work into my zombie game you should take a look at it maby it'll give you some ideas. Of course if you use them please give me credit.
-
Definitely. Will do!
-
Information and pictures updated.
-
This looks surprisingly good. Keep it up, dude.
-
Yep. Looking good. Keep up the good work.
-
Thanks guys. I'm glad you think so.
-
Moar Screenshots.
-
To be honest the mapping isnt the best but everything else seems good.
-
I agree. Thanks, hopefully I get everything sorted out soon.

-
Im still hear watching the progress and everyone esle is too, they just want to see a demo.
-
ok lol I was getting kind of worried.
-
Ah dont usually everyone reads the game, boards.
-
I see. haha my mom is like "you should sell this game to a company"
Updated some info again.
-
New screenshot. With this one, hopefully you will all understand why I'm saying it has mature content. These dudes will fxxx you up, resulting in a quick Game Over screen if you don't play their game.
-
Okay, soon I'll have a playable demo for you guys to gripe over. I'm sure there will be a lot of problems, this is my first project I've stuck with. I'm debating whether or not to include the Michigan maps, and I'm leaning towards ending the demo at the end of the Wisconsin Area quest. As soon as I finalize the map for Wisconsin (which is a lie because I will always be adding more stuff), you guys will have a faded, bloodstained demo of fair proportions to tear through in 20 to 30 minutes.
-
Small demo added, check my original (first) post. Near the bottom, you will see "DEMO(S)". The link is there.
-
:D
Expect a review later
-
ok thanks haha. demo two is on the way.
-
I'll download it a little later today and give you some feedback.
-
thanks man.
-
I've got a BIG problem. Please read this thread and try and help out, if you can.

Nevar mind guise. Fixed it myself. Demo 2 is on the way. In it you play a Galactic Patrol Sergeant just before everything goes to hell.
-
Glad you got it fixed.
-
Thanks man. That plus parent problems equals a really shitty day.
-
Well I'm downloading it now..can't wait!Reading some of the features made it SOUND good..but there's only one way to know if it realy is....oh and Rahl;I played your game. It's amazing!
-
Glad to hear it. Have fun! Try to trap the zombies using the crates - it's hilarious when they are all stuck

Thanks warlock, prolly be adding an expansion in a few weeks. I haven't gotten around to playing the demo yet, but I promise I will this week carrion.
-
Alright man haha. I just got Diablo 2 on my computer and I've been craving the game for years. I'll get back on this project quite soon though.
-
Yeah I hope you do release an expansion. Looking forward to it.
Oh and the demo was realy fun. Played it like 6 times just so I could trap the zombies in funny places and ways...lol
-
haha thanks
-
Have you updated the demo? I played it recently and there was just a room
full of moveable crates!
-
There's supposed to be enemies in there too. At first they look like Galactic Patrol Soldiers, but if you get touched once everything goes creepy and they turn into zombies.
I haven't updated the demo yet but this week I'm going to get back working on it.
-
Until I can find the time to work on two projects simultaneously, this project is going to be put on hold. Perhaps canceled, but I'm not sure. I'm finding myself less and less interested in the concept, and more interested in making a fantasy hack & slash game with zombies and various creatures instead. Haven: Westor Redemption will be the end result. Check below for the thread.

-
Well that's disapointing. You could have made something realy unique and interesting out of the concept.. hope you don't give up on the project..
-
I'm still trying to figure everything out. I might give a third try at this.

Double post for content. See my original post.
