Hey everyone. I hope this is a bit simpler than most of the requests in this forum.
I need a name for my female main protagonist. Without giving too much away, she's a former soldier who has lost her faith in humanity and the world, due both to the horror of war as well as some experiments that were performed on her.
I'm thinking something simple, maybe one or two syllables. Maybe a code name of some sort?
Thanks for the help.

I suppose you don't want flower, gems and animal names huh?
Nellah, Tyra, Josephine, Eva, Eve, Anne, Lena, Freya, Carolina. Hell, anything works.
-
Ooh, some of those are excellent. I'm particularly fond of Freya - gotta love those Vikings for some of the most awesomely-named gods around.
Thank you very much for your help. I will very likely use one or more of those names, so I'll make sure to credit you.
-
sigrid, gunhild, indra, siv there are plenty. But I doubt you can pronounce all of them.

I'll try to help, with real meaning in names:
EDITH
Gender: Feminine
Usage: English, German, Scandinavian, Dutch
Pronounced: EE-dith (English), E-dit (German) [key]
From the Old English name Eadgyð, derived from the elements ead "rich, blessed" and gyð "war". It was popular among Anglo-Saxon royalty, being borne for example by Saint Eadgyð, the daughter of King Edgar the Peaceful. The name remained common after the Norman conquest. It became rare after the 15th century, but was revived in the 19th century.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
MORANA
Gender: Feminine
Usage: Slavic Mythology
Means "death" in Slavic. In Slavic mythology this was the name of the goddess of winter and death.
------------------------------------------------------
VALDÍS
Gender: Feminine
Usage: Ancient Scandinavian, Icelandic
Derived from Old Norse valr "the dead" and dís "goddess".

Seriously, though. Make her last name Sinclair. Claire Sinclair. Something. Idunno.

Make her last name Sinclair.
Damn you! You made me wanna watch Babylon 5.

Um, not to be rude but, how about Celes, cuz that is who you described in painfully exact detail.
Kind of rude, no? You could've at least phrased it better.
However, your criticism is noted, and I will do better to distance her from already previously-established characters.
Also, thanks for all of the names, guys. Once again, I will definitely be crediting the people whose names I do use.

No need to credit me if you do pick one of my names, it's just a suggestion =P

Who is Celes?
A female ex-general in FF6, who was a traitor, or something, and joined the main party.
-
Who is Celes?
yeah, what _JeT_ said plus she was the result of magical experiments done to her by the empire. so kinda matches all of the above criteria she mentioned for her main character. and on a side note how are you not familiar with one of the most definitive rpg's in square's history...sad /facepalmslide
