I think the main reason of such thread is only to warn people in case they might look for you.
As in "If you want to talk to me, you won't be able because _____ for ___ time."
Sure, it's not needed, but not unwanted either. Unless you leave and come back every weeks and make a thread about it every time, now that would be unwanted. But it is not the case right now.

I am now. I poked on twice during my vacation, I was only on for as long as I was because the internet in the hotel room sucked. Dominicy, I don't read anything too small to be read, because it is always really pointless (Archem), or just annoying (Archem). And yes, Fisherson, I have not forgotten, it's written on my calendar as 'cut off Fish's arm.'
