I think people round here need some sort of drive or incentive to produce some games. Does anyone else feel a bit of a dry spell?
There's so many talented people round here. So why don't we all agree to start working on something significant, innovative and small?
This could be a small CBS demo or something. I feel like every has ran out of inspiration and we need to help each other or something.
Maybe you disagree, but I want to see some updates for these great games that people keep creating. What happened to that Orc game?
What happened to Drak's game? What happened to the Steampunk game? Ahhhhh!!!!
-
I'm working on a few projects but I tend not to post topics unless the games are absolutely completed- just in case I don't finish them. I might post some. You played Dead Shot yet? I completed that last month. It's in my signature. If you want to click it.
PLEASE PLAY MY GAME AND VALIDATE ME.
-
Those who have me on MSN already know I'm neck-deep in another idea.
-
Why can't you find them? You lost the games?
Personally, I usually lose inspiration very quickly, which is why I've never completed a single game.
And since I can't find inspiration to create a game, I'll just play completed games.
I do some times note some ideas that pass through my mind, but I doubt I'll make something out of them. But it's just in case.
I would like to complete one, though. But there's also a bit of lazyness and all...
And I do hope the Steampunk game finally see the light. But not the one at the end of the tunnel...
-
I'm working on two games right now. I'm still learning about rm2k3.
I've already completed one crappy game and I'm working on another. It's not like crappy games are a show of talent other than seeing how much you can frustrate other people, though. Actually, now that I think of it, being a newbie of sorts and only submitting crappy games sounds... like I'm an idiot.
My other project is going to be quite serious. There's hardly anything done right now, not even enough to start explaining it. Not even a storyline that's stable.
And school is starting soon. So it will take even longer to complete my projects.
-
Right now I'm TRYING to get time to do so, but with school and constant job hunting, I'm finding little time to do so. Also Diablo 2 and Halo3 and StarOcean TLH are seeming more important than RPGmaking ATM
-
Right now I'm attempting to rip my head out of my ***, and write the script for the Community Game.
That count?

I'm having a bit of a dry spell but I'm snapping out of it now.

I'm back to work on ol' CoD2, but I'm not regular enough with my work to want to get people all hyped up about it.
Plus I released a version a few years ago and nobody cared or played it and that made me annoyed enough to quit being an admin and delete all my posts and swear off Charas together. Which makes me wonder what I'm doing here now, but whatcha gunna do. Just sayin, it doesn't seem like people around here want to play the very games we're dedicated to supporting.
I won't admit to any of the above in the future.
-
I'm still working on survive, I'm afraid it has taken a bacseat to Halo3 and a terry Brooks book I've just got into lately. Felix, whats your Live account I'll have to kick your *** sometime.

...Call of Duty 2? Are you playing it or making some version of it? Now I'm interested...
But if it's not call of duty, I still would want to know what it is...
-
It's Saikar, that's enough to get me interested anyways.
Seeing as I've never seen any of his games, I'm kind of curious as to how uberly awesome he is.
-
...Call of Duty 2?
Thought the same, but then I realized that was a stupid idea.

saikarspeak
So THAT'S what happened.
I totally remember CoD2. I'm not just saying that. If I'd known how it would affect you I would have praised you more, my sweet :'(

The chain game is kinda "on hold" it seems.
The community game is going strong. Although more people would be appreciated.
I have some thoughts and ideas of my own. But I'm more of a planner than an actual maker. Always run into a brick wall someway along the track and get lost and confused. Then I fidn the trail again some years later but reads through my .txts and thinking "what a ****ing idiot I was back then"

Hmmm... I don't know what I'd be able to do to help. Should I ask there?
-
Yes, just go to the thread and state what you're willing to do.
Face Set makers and Mappers are extremely needed, as well as programmers for cutscenes, but anything is helpful

Control of Destiny 2. CoD is my RPG series. Call of Duty has done amazing work towards making it difficult to promote my game now. I've had the CoD acronym since 2000, darn it!

I'm actually in the... Very... Slow... Pro...cess... of Rewriting The Alpha Force, which will be re-created for a few reasons:
1. Now that I'm going into college, I'm getting a better idea of exactly how Roosevelt City's University should be portrayed this time around; with a bit more seriousness.
2. The database of the original AF was a complete mess; I anticipated that, as one got more and more abiliities for their characters, the tech menus would get more and more messy overall. Thus, that'll be redone as well.
3. Want to try and use more versatile chipsets than the Roosevelt Chipsets, which seem very victorian/noir to me. Not that I have a problem with that, but it's just that First Seed style chipsets are way more versatile.:P
4. I just want to rewrite the story a bit, as well. That's mainly what I'm doing relating to AF right now.
Granted, School starts for me in 17 days, and I'm still very early on in writing out the story, so I don't know how much will actually get done in the next 4 years. ASDHFASDHLAG
Oh. And I'm still making adventures for Spore GA, so that's another factor that slows me down. ADSFHALFAF

Oh, I've played Dead Shot. Great game!
-
I'd be more than happy to help people with their graphical needs, right after I stop being so damned lazy.
-
In all seriousness, graphics are usually the most significant hurdle to me finishing any of my games. I have nice ideas and I know how to code them, but when my character's walking animation looks like a lizard being stood upright and electro-shocked it's right back on the jack daniels and the crying in my underwear until 5 am in the morning wishing I'd never been born.

Dude. Dude. Once I got past the impossible dodge nastiness, The Alpha Force was my favorite RPGMaker game I've ever played. Don't tell Ace I said that.
Release an Alpha Force demo and I'll add Bluhman to my game ten years in the making as a secret character, even though I swore up and down I wouldn't change the cast ever again.

You see, it's usually the graphical side of Charas Doom that gets me. Right now I'm having to find a first person weapon for Bluhman that has that same toonish quality.

That's why I wish to god I understood Gamemaker. I've done extensive VB coding in college
and can make ridiculously complicated CBSs and CMSs in RPG Maker. The paint graphics don't bother me
at all. It's the extremely blocky graphics of RPG Maker that do.
-
Only reason why RPGM is so chunky is cause the sprites are zoomed in twofold.
I tried to emulate that in the RPG project that I had and suddenly dropped for lack of my understandings of AI (I keep thinking they're more complicated then they are)...but these little two one pixel lines of empty appeared on the sides, allowing you to see the background.
Same thing happened in Kyoob, sadly.
-
I've got lots of inspiration, only I can't focus on one thing at a- oh look a doggie.
-
This could be a small CBS demo or something.
Actualy I had a nice one beffore my PC crashed >w< I even figured out how to make enemy have their own turns and evertyhing.
It was like a heavy suped up DBS, only with more party members availible (nearly infanate O_o) and a much better status system and such. But now it's all gone. Belive it or not I'm still working on the Steampunk Game, but I have a flipping cold now and can only get on the computer during the day and work for about two hours (If I skip MSN RPs and Spore and do nothing but the Mayoral Chain Game). plus I'm still thinking up stuff for Warped (No it's no dead, but just delayed thanskl to having to work >_<) and then there's Legondo Rising (My five year project I'm having to re-build from scratch >w<) and The Adventures of Jet and David (My crappy RPG I occasionly add junk too). So far the one that's clossest to realse is TAJAD.

I should probably work on Axiom Break some more...
