I used to love this show, and just recently got back into it (when I realized every episode is on youtube :D). Given the high level of geek-dom involved (come on, there's a scene where a guy does standup in binary)
There's been news for some time of three new movies, but from what I've heard, they're not going to finish off the cliffhanger, they're juts going to start a new story...
(from Reboot.com)
"Season 4 of ReBoot ended on a famous cliffhanger. While some aspects of that cliffhanger were resolved in a three-part web comic series, the theatrical feature film will be a departure from the series in this regard. It is our intention to create a new ReBoot adventure that seasoned fans will enjoy exploring while simultaneously introducing the rich world of Mainframe to a whole new audience"
Anyway, with that bad news I thought I'd ask around here to see if anyone else watched it/has any good memories of Reboot, or if anyone followed the comics etc.
For those of you who don't know, Reboot was an awesome show (the first fully computer animated TV show)...the first season and a half are very episodic, but when the plot gets real, it gets real. Even though the animation's a bit dated now, I highly suggest watching Reboot since it's really well written, and isn't short on geek jokes.

Reboot was so awesome.
Did it end on a cliffhanger? I remember that the kid and the memaid chick went out onto teh internets to find Bob and bring him back to the city to save it. And I'm pretty sure they did. Yay! I think. Isn't that how it ended?

Nope, not how it ended at all.
After they save the city from Megabyte, Mainframe goes to war with the Guardians who are infected by Daemon. After she infects all the main characters (except Frisket and young Enzo), she initiates a command that forces the whole net to go through a process which will basically delete everything. Hexidecimal (now a benign virus) sacrifices herself by splitting her data through the net along with the cure for the infection.
Afterward, Dot proposes to Bob, but after he accepts, a portal to the web opens and The Surfer shows up with another Bob. After some time, Dot decides to marry the other Bob (not "Glitch-Bob") but right when they're about to get married, Bob turns into Megabyte, whose now become a Trojan horse. He infects the principal office, and takes young Enzo hostage.
And that's where it ends.
I tihnk this is where you left off: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hQS5b4oF_k

Spoilers
Really? I don't remember any of that at all. Huh. Maybe something happened to the channel that was airing it my area and I never saw the final episodes.

Americans are weird.

Are you from the UK? I heard that the network that was airing it there thought that the end of the series was too dark so they pulled the plug. I think in the states, they also ended it early...

On this picture, show me which part of America you aren't from:

Psssh fine, be a jerk.

It's what I do best.

Reboot is one of my favorite animated series. I do kinda look forward to the movies, and I hope they don't stray too far from the original style. Like I hope they don't get live actors for instance, that usually messes things up. And I hope they accurately portray the characters.
-
I loved it.
-
I never heard of it :/
I loved it.
NO EXCUSE
-
Wikipedia says it started airing at like, 1994. I dont think I could even walk back then.
I feel old.
-
Me, too.
****ing 2.5D, am I right?
-
What're you guys talking about? I AM old.
As for favorite characters... I liked Hack and Slash, as well as Hex.
-
I loved that show sad thing is they planning to finish it and release it like last year or this year but it never happened.
I'm actually surprised the show got more Mature and violent since BS&P were so afraid of leaving in something as innocent and simple as Dot kissing Enzo's cheek.
Edit: Darkfox your not much older than me this would have aired on tv for a while when you were like 14-16.
-
Darkfox, not Lucas.
Wait, when did Darkfox not see this? I'm suddenly all types of confused..
-

I love Hex. Also AndrAIa. I think the only character I didn't like was Mike...and I don't think you're supposed to like him
-
Yea, I was 7, and I'm 22. I remember this show. I always loved Bob, but I barely remember anything except the kid enzo, and then him as a humungous barbarian looking guy.
-
What's this about?
Geek show?
How have I not seen it?
Huh...
*goes and finds some episodes online*
-
I remember it, but I don't remember if I liked it or not.
I have horrible memory, though, so I'm not sweating it.
-

Damn you Mike the TV! Heroes and villains alike wanted to shut him up.
-
It's been so long since I've seen this show! Granted, I was, like, really really young when I first saw it, but still. I've known about the films for some time now. I really need to go watch it from the start so I know what's going on when I find the comic :P
-
Same as Fortet.
I'm watching it on youtube now. =D
-
Isn't there a DVD set or something?
-
I was BORN in 1994 and I remember this show! I haven't seen it in aaaaaaages! Pure awesome though.
-
I remember this... I never really got into it. But, then again, I only remember one episode, which was when they were in a fantasy-medieval game and the main character was a thief with a butter knife as a weapon.

Heh. REAL thieves use swiss-army knives!
-
I haven't seen the show since it aired so I barely remember anything. But I do remember it being awesome.
-
Show = the ****. While the movies aren't likely to materialize, Mainframe, or whatever the company is now dubbed, had a fan program a few years ago where you were able to pitch the direction the story was to go, the character design, and whatnot, all to be formed into a surmountable mass of potential comic book to wrap up the whole Megaframe story arc.
From what I read, it was retarded.
-

I remember a bit. Enzo's dog being Frisket, Enzo and Dot's dad being turned into a Null after a game accident, Megabyte infecting binomes to be his soldiers. I even remember the giant robot fight with NULLZILLA!
-

Keep in mind Season 1 to the first half of Season 2 is all episodic, and the main story arc starts halfway through season 2. Not saying you should skip the beginning, but if you start at the beginning, keep in mind that it does start to go somewhere.
-
Alright.
*hasn't looked yet =[ *
-
What? I am the one who didnt see it.
I just did the math using DF's age.
I did math as seeing as Darkfox is three years older than me and I rember seeing it on tv watching it when I was 11- 13 plus 3 (since Darkfox is 3 years older than me) 14- 16
Damn you guys being born in 1994 makes me feel old for being born in 1989.
Edit: You know I always figured the guy who owns the PC they are on must be pissed he barely ever wins a game.
-
1994? I have coherent memories of 1994, and people on this forum were BORN in 1994!? Oy...
And don't worry Nandez, I was also born in 1989.

So we are both Old
Damn :P

Me too.
What the hell is up with that year? Apex was born in '89, if I remember correctly.
Actually, if I remember more correctly, he shares my birthday... *coughthe19thofthismonthcough*
-
So was my sister.
Popular year for birthing, apparently.

Yay were popular! Or maybe that year somehow fertile drugs got dropped in the World's water and we are the product of a cruel Goverment test to create supersoldiers when we come of age except the drug failed becuase the Goverment is stupid.

I like your thinking (but not your hairstyle. That's fine, though, because all super soldiers get their heads shaved. Adds to the badass factor).

=( I finished watching all the Reboot episodes yesterday. I'm sad. :'(
