Title: Using Pictures for Menus, Maps and Playable characters

I may have asked this before, but I dont think I got an answer, The creator of SMRPG Legend of the Seven Sages, has a special menu and uses a lot of NPC and Bowser all with the use of the show picture option. Loaded question I know but

What I need to know how to use Show Picture for a Larger Character rather than super pixelized one (Because that is super lame.)

What I want to do is make a magical map where you can go any where you visited once before also using pictures (Like a map event and compass, where it shows you where you are on the map I know this all possible with this indvidaul program)

Id appercaite even the most vague clue

I would suggest asking the creator of that game.
After all- he is the source of what you want.
