I'm posting from a newly acquaired PSP 3000. Tiping takes ****ing FOREVER.
-
Tiping? What the hell is tiping?
-
Writing, w/e. I know you know what I meant.
-
TYPING.
-
Oh, shut up. It already takes forever to type, d'ya expect me to correct mistakes.
-
BUY A KEYBOARD.
-
For a PSP?
Why?
-
Tell me. Does it feel as cheap and hollow as I've been told?
I have a 1000 model, so I can actually feel something in my hands when I play, and it makes it all so much enjoyable.
-
TYPING.
Oh.
I thought he somehow meant "tipping".
-
Congrats man, though you may wanna consider looking around for a used 1000 <3 I love my highly pirated software containing brick of a handheld.
-
Yeah, my PSP 1000 has been lying around for who knows how long. I was stupid and upgraded the firmware past the point where they stopped making downgrades. I'm too cheap to do a pandora battery. So it's just a shiny black paperweight now.
Or, you know, if Sony weren't so incredibly stupid, the thing would be worth something unhacked.
-
lol psp 3000. 1000 n 2000 r superior cuz their easy to mod
*Goes back to playing Dissidia, FOR FREE.*
-
Must not be worth the money, right?
-
Geee, sure is alot of pirates around here.
Does ANYONE BUY psp games anymore?
-

It plays games, which is what I expected it to do. So, I dunno.
But, ye guys, me 3000 is not not not not not not modded. So all is alright.

No one has EVER bought PSP games, that's why didn't do that well. Grandy, it's NOT alright.

Over on the Wiremod forums, we PERMABAN pirates.
-
Great. Only, I highly doubtyou actually bought RPGMaker.
-
Oh snap.
-
You can still hack a PSP3000, but the way that you have to do it can really **** it up if you do it wrong.
....which is why I've been playing FF1 for the last month...
(hint: it's not as good as we all remember)
-
Pandora batteries are such a pain. Its so easy to use, but that extra step is like 3% more effort. Its un-American I say.
-

Abandonware != Piracy.
-
Schilcote is so righteous. I envy him.
-
Abandonware != Piracy.
Actually, in most cases Abandonware = Piracy. In this case, it is. Enterbrain never released it for free, and still sell it.
-

But the question is- do people buy it?
-
Yes.
Schimmy, the ship's sinking fast. Might want to put out a lifeboat while you still have time.
-
I pirate stuff to test it out. I buy stuff I actually like. It's like an extended "preview". Seriously though, people. Buy stuff or else we'll never have good stuff again.

As far as I am concerned, you can not install custom firmware on it, due to the motherboard. You are however, capable of running homebrew on it so long as it's firmware 5.03.

What are you talking about? The amount of pirates in existence in contrast to people who legitimately purchase games is so retardedly miniscule it makes hardly any impact in the actual market. Why do you think Nintendo does next to nothing to prevent piracy? Sony and Microsoft could probably stop it too; but the difficulty and the risk that goes into modding most systems isn't worth putting an end to legally, unless it's starting to overflow the market, like R4s.
Anyone who is going to buy games, will buy games. Anyone who is not going to buy games, isn't going to buy games; the market is barely phased.

You might want to check your math there, captain. What you've claimed isn't a constant, and isn't quite accurate.
However, I won't bitch, since your point is at least valid.
Here's my piracy: Focus on older items that are extremely difficult to find. Example - System Shock 2. For music, I intend to purchase anything I download. As I've mentioned previously, I have made loads of purchases of CDs that may never be unwrapped. For console games, I only get titles that are from past generations. Even then, I have a hard time enjoying them as much without the proper controller in-hand. Movies? Those are a rarity. I never watch movies. Bottom line, though, is that I make my best effort to only pirate older items, and to purchase the item in question at some point (unless it's something that I really don't enjoy. There have been a number of musical groups that failed miserably at being enjoyable).
I'm not perfect, and I am a pirate. However, I understand my responsibility as a consumer, and I support the people responsible for bringing me something I love.
-
Archem is the most awesome pirate I know.
His birthday was Talk Like a Pirate Day, after all.
-
I also have a massive Jolly Roger above my bed.
-
I also have a massive Jolly Roger
I read it like this the first time O.o;
-
If it's practically impossible to get a particular game in your area, I think pirating is okay. If it's a game you could stroll round the corner and buy, then I'd wait for it to get cheaper. Then pirate it when it actually gets MORE expensive.
-
I'd only pirate SNES games that aren't on VC/don't deserve to be bought.
Everything else I hunt for.

Thats all good, except my friend pirated Dynasty Warriors Strkie Force, FFDissidia, some Burnout game, FF7, and Soul Calibur for the PSP. D:

Wow, what douches.

I'll never understand why people have pride in consumerism. The older some of you kids get, the more you'll realize there are things other than videogames to spend money on. When it comes down to it, paying little for the things that matter little, so you can afford the things that truly matter, becomes a much higher priority down the line. Hopefully one day you people will wake up and realize we're living life for ourselves, and not a cause; so you can take your 'righteous' game-buying ultra-nazi bullshit ****-pirate attitude somewhere else, and realize you'll never convince someone with you flimsy-whimsickle ideals. You stand there and justify to me that RPGmaker is 'abandonware' and '12 year old games' are fine, and yet tell me I'm wrong because of what I do? I have nothing left to say on the matter.

Yeah, no. Wanting big things doesn't mean it's okay to steal the small things, no matter what sort of wacky ethics you pretend to hold yourself to. If nothing else, it's against the law.
-
I pirate whatever the hell I want to.
If I want to support anybody, I'll send them a fucking check or something. Buying shit doesn't necessarily mean you're supporting the people responsible for it. Most of the time, you're just supporting the provider.
And if piracy was miraculously put to a halt, I still wouldn't buy shit. The reason I pirated it in the first place is because I don't have money. So it doesn't make a difference.
-
As I see it, if my oh-so-beloved-country-WHICHWILLHOSTTHEOLIMPICS2016GOGOGO started officially importing games at affordable prices, I'd buy them.
Affordable prices being, not ****ing R$60+. A virtual console card for the Wii is R$120.
And if it started getting some good games. The only official gamestore around here is... nonexistent. But we can buy some games at the Saraiva Bookstore (*shrugs*) they have got about 5 different games for each console, none of which anyone ever heard of.
I mean, 5 Wii games and the most famous of them is Munchables.
-
I buy games for the psp 3000 and often am saddened... but sometimes its worth the money...but not lately boo persona I don't care what you say.
-
Persona doesn't works for me.
:<
-
Like every building looks the same and I get motion sickness from the way you first person run around and then the graphics are boo the special moves are boo I couldn't play it much after that. I like dragoneers aria even though most people hate it .. its a hard game but at least its not like super complicated like say monster hunter or vahalla knights... and by complicated I mean highly repetive........
-
I'm trying to play the (emulated) Playstation version... I completely agree with the motion sickness thing.
My sister took the PSP to college again... FFFFFFFFFFUUUU-

Fuck her.
Not literally, though.
-
*Is standing behind Archem*
Fuck her.
*Raises hand*
Not literally, though.
*slowly puts hand back down, avoiding looking t people's eyes*
-
Heres a fun one psp would have you believe it can do many things but try turning a video file into a psp compatible format and you will literally realize that you would rather have your own nuts in a vice.

Who are you to determine what matters little and what matter big? So big things matter bigger? I should pirate games so I can buy a car? No, it doesn't work that way. You can't just tell what matter a lot in this life and what doesn't matter, cause if you do that, I can say that NOTHING matters. Then what will you have? Nothing, because it doesn't matter. Different things have different worth to different people. I'm a musician and am following a game development course, so that means that music (and related things) and games (and related things) means a lot to me.
tl;dr: Stop being a douche by thinking you're the greatest person of the world.
-
you will literally realize
Really? I thought I would figuratively realize. >_>
At least, I should hope so. Because I don't think anyone literally wants their nuts in a vice.
-
I could name you four people that would.
-
*slowly raises hand*
-
*literally*

...I am getting a curious double post here.
Is this part of a joke that I just C-C-C-COMBO BRoke?
-
No, it pretty much wrapped itself up already.
Ten minute pauses kill the theory of an epic multi-post string. Fifteen minutes if you consider your post.
-
Persona doesn't works for me.

...Dude, that's harsh. :(
Also, I'm beginning to predict Archem's responses... ... ... ... ... I'm scared...
