Original topic was me wanting to direct people into a project.  Most people thought I sounded like a dick but I didn't mean to come off that way.  You got to have pride in your work and originality.  I just think everybody wants their own stuff in a game like me so it kind of sucks unless somebody truly loves your work and wants to be part of your team on their own accord.

It'll never work.

Everyone wants to be director and come up with all the ideas and tell everyone else what to do and have them entact the perfect vision of their game. It's why the vast majority of games never get finished - because when it gets down to the brass tacks of actually, like, doing all that stuff, they aren't up for the challenge and the only thing that keeps them motivated in the short term is them seeing their own ideas come to life.

Basically the question I'm driving at is... if people can't be bothered to finish their own games, which they love enough to actually spend humongous amounts of personal time on, what makes you think they'll want to put the same effort to create someone else's vision?

And while I'm asking questions, and I mean this with absolutely no offense intended, but what's so special about you that gives you director qualities? You just said you like taking the easy way out of hard work. Do you try that sort of downgrading tactic at job interviews too?

I think for the most part you're right.  I see myself as a director because I want to bring some things to the scene that nobody has done.  There is so much flavor out there besides your typical "Ninja" game.. How many fucken Ninja games are there?  Or your typical Dragon Ball Z **** over and over.   You hardly really get some of my ideas in any game.  When was the last time you played a game where you could be a tortured spirit inside of a clown that torments and destroys things with it's evil laugh, and summons evil dolls/puppets to do his bidding?   The answer is.  NONE.   And if you did, please tell me so I can play that ****.


The deal with what I said was not to make me sound lazy but to explain the point that these games drain you.  They make you take easy ways out of certain aspects of the project to just get on with parts that you can get done easier.  For instance.. Spell Animations, Art Work etc.. I suck at drawing.. I want to bring these ideas I have TO LIFE.  With talented artists and animators who can make a kick *** version of the "Twisted Animator" or "Plague Bringer" with a giant rat pet and everything else you simply don't see.  I can't do it by myself but I got the ideas to bring to the market that would be INSANE if done right and highly original.

Edit: though what's wrong with your sprites? The ones you posted in your game thread seem pretty cool.

Nothing really. I'm enjoying the new battler pics.  What I really want I can't do though sadly and that's having some great looking animated battlers for all my classes.  Eh, maybe animations are just eye candy and the mechanics is what really matters anyway.  I am glad to be working on Asiyla again.  I just wished I could get some original music, sprites and things I can't put together on my own sadly.  I can steal like a professional thief when it comes to art online but I can't make my own **** for anything.


BTW, I know i'm considered the "clown/comedian of charas" but I'm not messing with you right now.  I'm very passionate about my ideas that's all.

No. I can think of like... 5 others Id give that title to before you. No offense.
I find you loud and abraisive, but not clown-like. But I mean, I like you, so I just turn the volume down a
bit when I watch the videos.

As for the rest of the content of the thread...I think you just need to learn to keep it simple. You obviously have a desire to paint your ideas with the utmost of detail...But I mean...nobody wants to play, or work on somebody elses overtly complicated game. Theyre all busy with their own. Id be way more eager to work on somebody elses project if it was not daunting, and didnt come off as  and ego-jerk-off for the developer.

Well, I started the stupid post last night basically trying to ask people if they wanted to let me direct them.. Yeah, I didn't flame you at all. I disagreed with your proposal on certain grounds, but that was not meant to be a personal attack on you. My posts are still there for people to read. Maybe you should take another look. If you think THAT counts as flaming, then I'm sorry, but your self-justified leadership skills are much worse than I thought. Your director days are over before they even begun. Even Archem isn't that bad, and he's pretty bad.

I also don't personally like your ideas that much. A lot of your classes look fairly flat, poorly explained, and uninteresting. I have little reason to care about any of them. Classes in general are kind of shifty grounds since they're like the clothing a character wears. Do you care about the character herself or do you care about the clothing? So what if my hero can dress as an evil clown? Is that going to change her personality or is it just going to give her different moves in battle? I don't know and ultimately the way you are presenting things I don't think I care.

Basically, if you build it, they will come. Saying "this idea rocks so much and you're all fools for not knowing it" isn't going to win you any respect. Gotta prove yourself through your works. If I were to join a gaming programming team, I'd want to join up with someone who is going to finish their game with or without my help for better or for worse, not someone who is so convinced that everything they're doing is so awesome and perfect if only they could lure in the proper people to make it work.
