Title: Spyware Help (aka, I'm an idiot)
Post by: fruckert on December 19, 2009, 05:53:00 PM
I accidentally let a spyware program add in an autorun registry edit, and told Spybot to not bug me about it again (in case you're wondering it's the Spyfighter infection).
I managed to delete the spyware installer file, and get rid of most of the registry things...but the initial registry that started the whole mess is still there.
I changed the entry to read " ", and while it's staying that way, I still can't delete it.
I haven't heard from it at all since then (this was about 10 minutes ago), so should I be worried?

Spybot is a spyware finder, not a malware fighter. It can pick up some trojans, but is not to be used as a general malware protection program. This is what you need.
