First off, i would like to thank you ppl for making this great resource! i as a programmer has almost no graphic experience. I do have some experience and i will give ya everything i can =)
Also, I've taken a look at your Chara.EX, it looks good, but due to the fact that it's a Windows-only program (and i'm crossplatform programmer) I will try to make my own version of Chara.EX for Linux and windows; if anyone wants to have it, or wants to suggest features, just give me a call :)

Good luck porting Charas.ex to Linux.
Although I have a feeling it might work alright on WINE.
Not positive though, I may have to give that a try.

and i'm making the Charas.EX from scratch, and it's actually quite easy to do. If i start tomorrow, i should have it done before that night; fast programming skills helps :) and I've used the WINE version, and trust me, it works but i wanna shoot my computer cause of the poor quality. But if anyone has the CMR format described or have code (any code, i'm used to translating code) that will decode CMR to it's basic types, i'll be happy to receive it, so my program will work with both the already made Charas.EX and it's format, and also so I can import it :) Thanks any help or support I may get in the future

trust me, thats the first thing going in! actually, it'll use bmp, png, for sure; i'll make it very similar to the website (i like that one a bit more) with features of the downloaded one (basically, the easy recoloring) i've looked at the forum for Charas.EX and found that people also want to be able to download the files from the internet (kinda like an update without much user interaction other then saying "yes" to the update) I agree that this is a good idea, but for that to happen easily, there should be a page, or pages, that holds every uploaded picture, so i may download them from there using the software.
If there is a page like this, please redirect me to it, it'll make it allot easier for me :) but if not; then expect the demo soon. By the end of next week i should have this done with most, if not all, sprites loaded.

Well, i'm going to start programming soon, is there any special request for "my version" of Charas.EX? And also, I'll be calling it Charas Offline if it's alright to the staff. Here's the current feature list that i'll put in the program:
-PNG, BMP import
-BMP export (I'll try for PNG Export also; if not then just use something like MS Paint to turn the bmp into png)
-Simple point-click interface
-similarity with Charas.EX and Charas generator.
-Open source, C Code, Zipped Binaries for Linux and Windows.
Should I also make a separate thread for this project? or use this thread?
Any comments welcome.

Definitely make a new thread.
I have a feeling that if you PM'd Alex he'd officially support you.
Only thing I can think of for this is adding in support for XP/VX style sets as well.
