What is the worst virus you've ever come across?
I'm not talking "Holy **** I don't want that" bad, I mean bad as in literally.
Like the viruses that opens up a new internet explorer tab with a page in it that's constructed to look like a Windows Security thing, even though you can clearly see horrid JPEG corruption.
One that I just got today is both badly programmed, and, when functional, completely retarded.
It attempts to see what page I'm on (only has worked on Facebook), and then opens up an IE window (I use Chrome) with a random flash ad in it.
That's it.
When it DOESN'T work, it just spams new tabs in IE, which can rape my CPU, but usually doesn't.

Syphilis.
-
Syphillis is badly programmed to the point of being laughable?
-
Chrome opening up a random IE flash page?
-
lololol STD jokes.
Anyway, I had one that slowed my computer down to all hell, continuously changed my homepage to some random crap, and kept giving me irritating pop-ups that said "Only the Best." I tried for a week to get rid of it before finally going into my registry and deleting files like crazy. Miraculously, it worked. I still cringe when I see the words "only the best."
-
Bioshock made me respond aggressively, yet surprisingly subserviently, whenever I hear the phrase "Would you kindly...?", so I understand.
And I will be using "Only the best" a lot more often now.

Ain't you sweet. XD
Hmmm... I had a virus that would cause my computer to restart after a certain time interval... and did this constantly. It was annoying as hell and would also cause performance problems. It was on an older PC. This one I have now I do not think has contracted anything major as of yet and it really secure.

The closest thing I've ever gotten was a virus that did nothing but turn my desktop into a blue-screen that said "WARNING - You have a virus! Get a free so-and-so virus scan from... BLAH" or something like that. However, it was just a HTML file replacement on the desktop, so icons and such still showed up above the virus warning... From the virus. It was weird. And annoying slightly.
But now, I got Sophos. This is like the fourth time I've mentioned it, but since I've installed it, ONLY THE BEST viruses can get through my defenses.
-
it's not really a virus, but when i just had registered at facebook for the first time and had only one friend added which was my sister, then i got an advertisement saying that "three of your friends have already tried this and the encourage you to try as well"
-
The one that gave me ads for FlashingBlinkyLights.com. Though it was a bitch to get rid of, the ads it brought up in my computer in no way reflected my interests.

facebook
Facebook's a virus.

Oh yeah, I got that same thing. I let my little brother on my computer and get this when I come back.
I guess when he saw a pop-up claiming my computer had a virus and needed the free Antivirus2009 (I think) he didn't want me to get mad, so he installed it or something and... I got mad. Though at least it wasn't much, just annoying.
-
So, this virus got mad at me for calling it retarded.
It decided to completely blow up and change eveyrthing.
Same thing as Bluhman and Cerb (Internet Security 2010), except that it didn't allow me to use Firefox or Chrome, although IE worked just fine.
I managed to get rid of it and get it quarintined, but I haven't been able to change the HTML background back to my awesome feat of art theft.

I had Internet Security 2010 a few weeks ago. I think I may have profited from it since I now have MalwareByte's Anti-Malware and Spyware Doctor installed.
-
I don't have Spyware Doctor, but MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware is cool.
-
I had Internet Security 2010 a bit ago. It was mildly convincing actually with its fairly convincing little scan thing, though wasn't helped by the fact I knew that I didn't have a program named "Internet Security 2010" anywhere on my computer under my own free will.
-
I ended up cutting of it's head pretty early on and it ran around like a chicken for the remainder of the time.
So basically I probably made it worse than it was already.
At least it's gone now, as well as the four other trojans I apparently had.
-
Antivirus Systme PRO. That thing was a bitch. Now it's been upgrade to this mopnstrosity that will destroy your harddrive called Antivirus Live

That and it scans way too fast
