Last time they were updated was in 2005, and from looking back in the Junk Bin (or what used to be in the junk bin :P ), the forum was a lot stricter back then.
You think we should update them a bit, so that in the rare case that somebody actually looks at them, they won't think we're all hypocrites?
-
That would probably result in me getting immediately banned.
...If we reverted to old-style moderation. I can't read.
-
Screw the rules, I have money!
-
Amen, Kijuki.
-
Forget the rules! Charas was founded on fun and that's the way it should be. If pepole break them, warn 'em if they do it over and over again: Ban 'em temp or perma don't matter, point is: They likey won't do it again.

Reminds me of a few dudes who used to come here.
Shame, I actually liked Red Fox.

Hum.

The issue
Few Charasians have brought to your attention that the rules written long ago were not respected, and wondered if they should be updated or not.
The debate
[1] - Rules should be followed, or else it's the anarchy! shouts GhostClown, a strict moderator. We actually need stricter rules, stricter mods and stricter consequences. Double-posting should be followed by a permanent-ban. Getting Off-Topic should have all your posts deleted. Flaming should result with death sentence. It's the only way!
Accept
[2] - There should be nothing like rules, everyone should be free to do what they want, says Meiscool while double-posting in order to flame the moderator who deleted his off-topic post which included gun smileys. IT'S JUST A FORUM LIGHTEN UP GOD DAMN IT I HAVE MANGA IN MY SIG.
Accept
[3] - I think rules are necessary, says Cerebus, a not-very-present Chrasians. However, there is no need to apply them all the time. Getting off-topic once in a while isn't all that bad as long as the discussion makes sense, and few short posts such as "Hum." which doesn't mean much or contribute to the conversation won't result in chaos either. As for updating the rules, it's not a bad idea, but at the same time, any newcomers who read them will just have more discipline. After staying for a while, they'll get to know themselves when they can break the rules or not.
This is the position your government is preparing to adopt.
-
Personally I'm going with "The government is preparing to dismiss this issue," but you get kudos for coming up with a new, overly complicated way to act superior in an argument so I have to respect that.
-
Haha yeah, although I felt there was an option missing where it suggests we all get naked. Or play bowling on the weekends.
-
NO HAND HOLDING. Then people will think we're gay.
-
Fruck, there was a time when mods sucked. Those times are over, and we should be happy that we can do whatever we want now. As long as we have enough money.
Awesome times, awesome times...
Edit: Though I still say we should just get rid of bot topics. No need keeping around "free meds" links and stuff in the junk bin.
-
I suddenly feel this massive urge to start... Censoring people...
Mass-deletion of posts and stuff...
-
No you don't.
-
Yes, I do.
But I have some serious self-control, so if anything like that happens in the near future, it wasn't me.
-
It will be.
-
Hey, I didn't say "enforce them like a bitch", I said "update them so they're current with what we do".
So it's less like "We don't follow our own rules" and more "we make them up as we go, mmk?"
