Title: 8.8 Quake Hits Chile; Tsunami threatens the pacific ocean.
Post by: Drakiyth on February 27, 2010, 10:33:05 PM
2 Earthquakes in 2010 so far.  This could have a major impact on the plates near California. Before this quake in Chile, scientists stated that there is a positive 99.7% chance the plates will go in Southern California in the next 10 years.  The impact will be 7.0 or higher.  This earthquake in Chile has rippled through the earth and has slightly moved the plates near California.  I'm not a soothsayer or psychic but I personally believe that 10 years for CA has been shaved down to a couple months.  If you live in Southern California right now. I would really start to think about the future.

I hate all this recent earthquake nonsense. The planet really needs to take a chill pill.

But in seriousness, yeah, bad. Not anything I can/plan to do about it, but I agree that it sucks.

Oh, ok. Bye, JeT.

ED: The article only seems to be advising there's a tsunami warning for SoCal.
ED2: Draikyth, What the hell are you talking about. None of the other sites that are talking about this happening are even mentioning SoCal being up for earthquake madness. Probably because it'd happen whether or not there was some earthquake in Chile.

Thankfully Chile's superior infrastructure means the death toll is nowhere near Haiti's. Still terrible though.

I tend to be a little suspicious of California's-going-to-break-off-into-the-ocean panic-mongering, but I'll look into it. Can you link us to the articles you're referring to?

Oh, ok. Bye, JeT.

Well, I don't expect you to die. You're a survivor.
