These are all trademarked images. Not to mention, many of theese could be made with the generators.
I would suggest using Warcraft 2 or 3 sprites. Youre going to have a hard time getting this one completed without paying somebody to do so.
Not to mention the Warcraft sprites would be of Blizzard quality.

^ I don't know why people bother saying things like this ^
Like people care about "trademarked" images (people not companies)... Blizzard is not going to break down anyones door to get images used for a relatively unknown program that is never going to take away from their business. Seriously no one needs to defend these multi-billion dollar companies.
lets see if there are any consequences to these kinda things: I constantly download music, movies and TV shows off the internet, come and get me companies. I feel no guilt that a take a negligible part of musicians ($50 million + a year income) and actors income. :(
Hope you find those images buddy
-
The fact that they are trademarked is of little consequence to whether or not you get the request filled, Ill admit. Personally, as a spriter/artist/somebody-who-is capable-of-doing-this-of-my-own-skills I wouldn't touch these (fan art is legal, 'member?) mostly because you want them for your project and there is 3+expansions games with existing sprites and resources (that could all be found and used with a google search and an image edit/resize). You've asked for a large amount of stuff and given no examples as to the style, aside from listing which middleware you planned to use for the project itself.
This is aside from the fact that here, on the forums of charas-project.net (a forum that was created in support of a set of generators that we host here, designed to make rpgmaker sprites) both an online and executable version of the generators that this site is devoted to. Granted, many of the resources made by the generator are of sub-par quality to anyone that isnt a completely amature game making novice, they can rather quickly be utilized to make say, a reference to what you wanted done. Or better yet, perhaps one could have listed perhaps links to the images of the races (allthough being an avid WoW player, im more then familiar with the races...which I might add, youve forgotten some of...ie goblin, ogre which are not currently playable races but still essential to the game's atmosphere) for a non familiar artist to work with, in addition to an example of the style of rpgmakerVX sprite you wanted, assuming you wanted them in a style aside from the readily avilable Blizzard made sprites that are easily suited for what you are doing.
Youve made no effort to give examples of what you want done, youve made no effort to think through what you'll actually be needing (in a compiled and cohesive sense of things that is) and (assuming you aren't asking because of limited artistic ability rather then pure lethargy) youve made no effort to show that youre even attempting to do this, edit this, or even at the very least provide templates or an animation frame number yourself, you're going to have a hard time finding people eager to do this with motives aside from getting you out of our collective hair.
Help us help you dude.
tldr The sprites can be found on google. If you want 'em done special, and for VX, youre going to need to learn how to articulate and think this list through before you ask other people to do it all for you.
Im going to go level my most recent horde toon now

-
I'll do it now that I finaly got the generater to work anyone know of any good resources for mid body size for any of them?
-
For the Horde! Alliance blows.
I dunno how RPG maker VX works/looks but if what gemini is suggesting is true it might be the best option for a project of this size. I am kinda interested in seeing what this game would end up like.
Anyways sorry I'm not exactly contributing anything of value to this thread, I am a Wow fan (recently quit though because of Blizzards shotty/slow work lately). I'll stop and watch now
-
I choose to say screw it and use Byond instead so it can be online as well as easier to customize
requires coding but for this type of project I think it would be for the best
-
i think you dont know what you're getting into. good luck though. glad you figured out those tricky generators
-
I have a Elf Body Sprite now so i can make the elves sprites

Cuz you aren't trying to keep a website afloat and away from Cease and Desist letters. The staff is less defending the multibillion dollar companies (fact though: the larger the company, more people it keeps in work. You think of a huge company as a soulless evil entity - I know it's a group of people trying to put food on the tables for their families. Just because it makes a lot of money doesn't mean it doesn't spend a lot of money every year too paying people for doing hard work. Why do you think a few banks folding in the US sent economic ripples through the world?) than they are defending the site's own interests. You are welcome to your own opinions about copyright laws, of course, as long as you don't try to exercise them on this (or most any public really) site. Just sayin'.
-
ergo, piracy and infringement perpetuates economic decline. Well put Sai.
-
I'm not going to make a single penny from this so as far as blizzard cares is that its basicly a fan game
Seeing how its going to be 2d the Terrain is going to look like crap compared to WoW
Since I've started I've only coded in 1% of the Cloth gear and I still have to go through and alter my gear system to accept more gear.
I'll be lucky if I'm done all the gear by the end of the year.
-
Nintendo sent a cease and desist to someone who was making OOT in 2D on RM2k3. He wasn't going to make any money either.
A fan game is fine, but when you are basically copying the real product, they have some problems with that.
And Blizzard is more stingy with their character designs than Nintendo is. A company like Blizzard has an entire division set up to search the internet for copyright infringement, and whether you make money or not isn't the issue. They want you to PAY for THEIR images.
Not to mention Brom, the artist who designed those characters may also have a problem with it.

Sorry to change the topic but, I'd also like to point out that VERY few musicians make '50million +' per year. In fact, most don't make more than a person working for McDonald's. Coming from a musician, people who refuse to buy music are killing music. Bands don't make much money these days off of album sales, instead, it's all concerts. But if they are signed to a record deal, they won't play concerts where they haven't sold albums. It becomes a vicious cycle of decline, until the band is back working at their local Wal-Mart.
And you'll probably say 'I'm only one person, what does that matter?' Well, considering that millions of people hold that same view, it begins to matter A LOT. When musicians start losing their jobs because people aren't supporting them, I take that personally.

To be fair, the whole music distribution system has a lot of problems these days. The old way of paying $25ish for a CD for 1 song you like and a few others that are kind of okay was obvious crap. CDs covered in anti-piracy crap - some even forced you to use a full-screen player on the CD itself to listen to the music - f that. When the internet came along and got popular with non-geeks those days were numbered. And even now that you can buy music online for a buck or less, the songs you get are locked down aggravating files that try to control how you use them. My mother downloaded a whole bunch of music for her ipod and I tried to copy some onto my flash drive to put onto my laptop, but I couldn't get into the files even with the codes we got when we downloaded them despite the fact that they advertised that we could distribute them five times.
I have "illegal" mp3s of almost every song I have. If it's a really good cause and I love the music and the artist I buy them through legal channels mostly just to support the artists even though I never actually attempt to use the files I've downloaded since the DRM-free mp3s are so much more convenient and compatible. And honestly I find myself paying for less and less these days. Music files are so small and the DRM is so annoying that I can't even bother to make myself feel more ethical about the whole thing if it's gunna take a few hours to download stuff and require me to enter credit card information online numerous times.
I'm not saying that piracy is at all acceptable, hypocrisy or not. I just don't like fingering out the consumers as the cancer that is killing music when the distributors started this whole mess by turning music from an art a solitary musician or a band could jump in into an industry designed to take talent, strip it down to its core, and package it for mass appeal at max profits. Just sayin, it's gunna get worse before it gets better.

I pay to play WoW thinking of going back to it when the new expansion comes out
As for the character designs I'm using Sprites made from the generater from this site.
My game isn't going to be anywhere near as good as the real WoW everything in 2D for one
No Raids (and if I do add them in at some point i'll have to make them possible for teams of five)
IDK if I'll be able to get Heroic Dungeons in my game.
Seeing how I'm just learning how to code with byond theres no way I'll be able to setup all the stats that WoW has.
The Talents are going to be different
The parts that are going to be the same are the Races, Classes, Places, Skills (wont even have effects for them for a while), the Icons and the stats gained from lvling up.
Hell I'm even being nice and put a link to the World of Warcraft website that shows up every time you log in
I'm putting a story into it either.
Someone just resized all my icons so I have to import all of them into my game now. Still need character sprites and Monster Battlers (probaly going with a size view battle system(not going to be fun to put in)
-

No offense but, um, that's like everything. It sort of begs the question of why you're creating a game in the first place when you're not doing anything original really.
-
(Personally, Im not going to say anything like 'no offense' because frankly, it sounds like this concept could use some pretty serious second thought)
An amateur made ripoff of the most sucessfull MMORPG (with one of the worst 'grinds') ever made....coded by somebody who is learning as they go, with middleware that is known for being really really bad.
But DAMN am I ever excited to see that cloth armor and the Skills that have absolutely no effects. Not to mention, Im terribly excited to level up all of those skills all over again. And the idea of potentially going on a 'raid' with 7 of your(not mine...my friends play actual games) friends on a laggy server that can only be accessed when your (not mine)computer is on....awesome
-
What some people here said. Why make your own version of the game when you can play the real one?
It seems kinda like tons of work from your part to make something that already exists pretty much.
Try to expand your view, create your own world with your own races. Create some neat classes and all that.
You might get something really cool and original that way and people will probably want to play it.
-
Alright, you guys have a point.
Sorta found something out about byond anyways saving and compiling once you have over 100 Maps at a (good size for WoW maps) takes like 5 mins with the chance it will crash.
So I'm going to scrap that project.
Also was working on it for like a week and got less than 3% of the cloth gear coded it, if that gives you any idea how many items there are in WoW. (Also had to look up the items which took some time too)
I am keeping my game name as "World of Heroes" though
-
Why not make a game that's your own idea? That's generally what leads to good games being made! And WoW, really?
That's like not even what why just no! Try and make up some funky characters and storyline. Plan it out. Make some
cool stuff up. That's the best bit - not coding it!! If you need help, just ask.
Good luck to you!
-
Fan games can be done well...
but they are never very good when they just try to emulate the original (unless its an 8 bit demake done right)
They tend to place characters or elements from their home-genre, and and introduce them into a different game-mechanic all together
or they attempt to fix some fundamental flaw or present them in a way that will compel a potential player to actually want to play the game.
A flat, 2-d WoW with amateur coding and poor spriting is an example of what most fan-game players DONT want to play.
Dont let this discourage you though. I think youre just trying to start out too big. The best indy game developers tend to start out with small, simple action games or puzzle games. RPG maker kind of prevents one from embracing the fundamental concepts of game making...So to start small in RPG maker, would be to take on something less epic. Good luck

lol I'm not talking about people who own a few instruments and play at frat parties and ghost malls, I'm talking about real musicians on MTV (It's a horrible channel I know but it does have "musicians" on it). Other than those "who wants to be a singer"-like shows noone comes from nowhere to become a musician, all have rich families, friends or are already rich themselves from some sort of acting career and they think they can be musicians too. The days of people being a local singing star actually making it big from pure non-rich roots is pretty much dead and I doubt it's because of internet songs being downloaded (it's the aforementioned actors and rich friends).
I would never say "i'm just one person..."1. That's incredibly cliche for stupid people and is almost always refuted right away and 2. I know what I am doing is part of a bigger thing and I'm glad it contributes to the supposed collapse of these things. Like I stated real musicians/companies seem to make enough money while these problems persist and the ones that don't obviously need to change their strategy, if masses of people really do think alike then they will pay for things if they think it's worth it. I still own plenty of movies, games and some music that I have paid for because i deemed it worthy. On the other hand I stopped paying the monthy fee for warcraft because I actually believe that blizzard has gotten retarded lately (yet of coarse then people argue "Like they care about one person...", pretty much the exact opposite arguement to stating that it is ignorant to think "one person dosn't make a differnce)
Speaking of over-ambition though, to the OP, while your dreams are admirable they are unrealistic. Even if there was a team of 30 of you working as hard as you could I would bet money that the game would never get finished, the game is just too big. Although if you did manage to somehow pull it off I would try it, if only to see if it's playable enough to never think of resigning back to blizzard [currently not registered/account frozen because the game is stale (over half a year of no content and still failing to supply old ideas i.e. dances) and blizzard is just piling up the greedy (Pet Store) and awful (RealID) ideas]
On an additional note, no matter how hard actors and musicians work they pretty much never deserve their massive paychecks over actual important people in society EDIT: can't believe i forgot those worthless athletes in my little rant
